very solid. I've utilized U-Haul several times in the past few years and I will say every experience has been very solid. The staff communicated to me very well and explained to me a variety of choices that I had.

Lovin' it all the way!. what can I say? after reading all these one star reviews we were very apprehensive to say the least - oh how wrong were we to judge! Service was great - for 40 bucks we got a small van , trolley and sheets after doing 9 miles - what more do you want huh? huh? And go do yourself a favour - get a furniture trolley for 7 bucks - mark my words you'ill thank me for the tip! Oh and stick it face down when you drive back cos it will roll around the empty truck and drive you nuts!!!

worst experience ever. I wish there were negative stars to give. That was the WORST experience I have ever had. We rented a truck from the Racine/Fullerton location. We tried to call and confirm our reservation after 6:00 Saturday night (the email said "if we don't contact you by 6:00 the night before the reservation call us to confirm", which i think is crappy service anyway), but no one ever returned our call. The phone would ring, and someone even picked up and hung up immediately!

Without being able to reach anyone at Uhaul, we arrived to an extremely long line Sunday morning at 8:50 for our 9:00 rental. We waited in line for 45 minutes, only to find they had "bumped" our reservation to the Fullerton/Pulaski location, without telling us. Our email confirmation said Fullerton/Racine, but they failed to notify us, or answer the phone, to let us know we had to move locations.

We rode our bikes another 3 miles to that location, only to find another terrible line. There were only 2 customer service representatives working the desk with a line literally out the door. We waited in line for almost 2 hours! We had to call and reschedule with our hired movers three times. Luckily they weren't too upset with the fact that we were 3 hours late. We didn't even get in the rental truck until quarter til noon. I have never seen such poor customer service. To only have 2 people working the counter? They were nice enough to extend our truck return time, because there was no way a truck given at 12 could be returned by 2, as originally planned.

The truck we rented had graffiti all over it, but otherwise was fine.

We unpacked our last moving load and went to return the truck. We weren't sure if we had to return the truck to the same location we rented, so we stopped by the Uhaul closes to us (Irving Park/Halsted) to try to save time. Before returning the vehicle, we asked 2 different workers (one that was doing vehicle inspection and the guy at the counter) if it was ok to turn it in at that location, or if we would incur an additional charge. BOTH of the guys said that it was no problem and that we could turn it in there without a problem.

Today we received the bill via email only to find we were charged DOUBLE because of returning to a different location! We filled the gas up prior to returning. We drove the Uhaul a total of 8 miles, at $0.99 per mile, that is $7.92. The rental was truck was $29.95. We were expecting our before tax and fees bill to be less than $40…. but somehow our bill came to $247.82!!!!

I will never use Uhaul, or ever recommend to anyone to use. An absolutely terrible experience. Do not use them!…

Don't trust their reservations. I just can't believe this place. I had made a reservation a few weeks prior to my move date for a 14" truck to haul my furniture 2 miles on the north side of Chicago. I just received a call letting me know that they would not have a truck available for my move in 2 days, but if I wanted, I could pick up a truck in Niles! You have to be kidding me.

I had received confirmation on my truck and provided a credit card for the reservation. So unless you want to scramble to find a truck right before you move, I would steer clear of this place. Truck Rental Fail!…
