Not bad for probably the cheapest tacos in Chicago.... I have to credit this find to the editors of Citysearch. If they didn't rate their tacos and gave them 4 1/2 stars, I wouldn't have walked in. Like the description, its hidden within a super small strip mall which looks like it one of the last 2 stores standing. I just happened to catch them right when they were closing. The $1.75 tacos are true, and by the advise I got from the editors, I had 1 of their pork tacos (al pastor) and 1 steak (carne asada). Now being closing time, the gyros style pork rotator thingy you see on the picture was already disassembled. But the cook was able to make them using fresh (I hope) pork. Topped with cilantro and onion on a soft corn tortilla like the editors said and the steak one topped with lettuce and tomato...not bad at all. I don't know if this is common for pork tacos to be topped the way they were since I'm accustomed to the lettuce and tomato. The restaurant that starts with a "G" further down the street serves them the same way too. But it's pretty good. Not only do they serve tacos, but they obviously have other favorites like gorditas, burritos, etc. Probably the biggest problem I have is their location. It's tucked away in a place that no one would probably see. The place itself is somewhat small. Their kitchen is "makeshift", just a stove and a fridge along the wall where everyone can see. Again, maybe it's just me with my previous experiences with Mexican restaurants. I'll give credit where it's due, Citysearch picked a good one for tacos. Would I come back for more...sure I would. Maybe i'll even try that tripe taco that the editor was talking about...yummy =)

Hidden in the back of a strip-mall, this gem features tasty tacos, plus a full menu of Mexican favorites--from breakfast to traditional combination plates.. In Short
Tacos are the star here, with the al pastor (cut from the vertical spit, then quickly thrown on the grill) being perfectly spiced, with juicy crisp chunks of tender pork, dressed simply with cilantro and onions. Several egg dishes are served for breakfast, then the menu heads toward tacos, burritos, tortas, enchiladas and more.
