Editorial Review for Rose Angelis – by Citysearch Staff

The Scene
Casual, familial Rose Angelis achieves the kind of garden-in-a-small-Italian-village ambience that The Olive Garden would kill for. A series of intimate rooms leads to the main dining area in back. Be prepared to say hello to several sincerely friendly waitstaff on your way in and out of the place.

The Food
There's no red meat on the regular menu, and no meat at all save for a couple of chicken and fish dishes--but otherwise, it's all traditional Italian dishes so good that even carnivores come back for more. Favorites include sweet, full-bodied ravioli alla Luigi (ricotta-filled ravioli served in a sundried-tomato cream sauce) and filling mezzalune al burro (ricotta and pesto filled spinach pasta in a light brown butter sauce). For dessert, white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake is light and heavenly, with a mouthwatering sauce.

The food there is always great as are the servers.. the rest of the help I can't say the same for.. A bus-boy went to fill my glass of water (mind you I've worked in the service industry most of my life) he didn't pick up my glass..dumped water all over my food.. the table.. my nice suit.. and the floor.. and didn't even offer a napkin. I almost just walked out, but t wasn't my server's fault. I will not be back again.. It was my favorite spot to eat when I was up in the city. Very dissapointed in this nice little restaraunt.

Pros: great specials, nice ambience

Cons: getting soaked by the water boy

My fiancee and I went for New Years Eve dinner. The food was good, but not fabulious. The food was overpriced given the quality.
