Wrightwood restaurant scores with intimate ambience and a noteworthy menu of mostly vegetarian Italian cuisine.. The Scene
Casual, familial Rose Angelis achieves the kind of garden-in-a-small-Italian-village ambience that The Olive Garden would kill for. A series of intimate rooms leads to the main dining area in back. Be prepared to say hello to several sincerely friendly waitstaff on your way in and out of the place.

The Food
There's no red meat on the regular menu, and no meat at all save for a couple of chicken and fish dishes--but otherwise, it's all traditional Italian dishes so good that even carnivores come back for more. Favorites include sweet, full-bodied ravioli alla Luigi (ricotta-filled ravioli served in a sundried-tomato cream sauce) and filling mezzalune al burro (ricotta and pesto filled spinach pasta in a light brown butter sauce). For dessert, white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake is light and heavenly, with a mouthwatering sauce.

Best find in Chicago. A date recently took me here for dinner and by far, one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in Chicago!

Our waitress was a doll, the food was amazing and ambience is fantastic!

olsonmd. Great value, OK wine list although the selection of the wines by the glass could be upgraded in quality for the same cost. Straightforward Italian fare with good service for a restaurant that is as busy as Rose Angelis.

Two Words...Bread Pudding. This place is one of my favorites. The food is incredible, the staff is always friendly, and while the dining room may be a little loud at times the ambiance is still comfortable and inviting. I can't even begin to describe the deserts! You have never tasted anything like the Italian Bread Pudding!

Best Date Spot. The resturant is in a quiet neighborhood and it may be a little difficult to park but it is well worth it this is by far the best date resturant in Chicago. The food is excellent and there are always a couple of good specials. The staff is friendly and funny. The dinners are usually pretty causally dressed and you always feel comfortable.

homey italian. This place is one of my favorites. The service is friendly and consistent (I think I've had the same waiter at least 3 times over a 3 year period) with a totally 'neighborhood', unpretentious feel. Great food, great value. Love it.

A plus... the summer deck - candles, wine and even a little greenery - makes for a very cozy and semi-romantic dinner.

My Favorite Restaurant.. This restaurant has everything. Good wine selection, wonderful food, good, fast (if you want it to be) service, and ambience! I have been to this restaurant many times and have NEVER been dissapointed...and the desserts, yum! During the summer they have a spacious outdoor area. One thing to keep in mind, they are not open on Mondays, and weekdays are the best days to go...the wait is short. Also, you get PLENTY of great food for your money! I highly reccommend this restaurant!

Hot Date Spot. My Advice: SHARE...huge portions, great value, unique manicotti, delicious pizza del giorno...wonderful salads...the only thing that will set you back is if you want to drink...pricey drinks
