In Short – Large windows looking out onto busy Clark Street make this comfy restaurant a prime spot for Lincoln Park people-watching. A cozy bar and colorful murals warm the spacious room; stacks of small plates on tables suggest the feast to come. The menu of hot and cold tapas includes traditional favorites like chicken and ham croquettas, grilled shrimp with garlic, and baked goat cheese, plus sinful options like buttery escargot and thin slices of marinated lamb.
bad experience.

I took my wife and son for a nice dinner, the waitress was new, I can understand that, food took a little too long, and then we paid(95.00) and left. 2 days later I notice that they had charged me twice for two different amounts ($97.85 & $100.70), then I called the restaurant and the manager said that the server made a mistake (they should have told me that the same night I went to eat!) and in order to put that money back in my card it will take 3-4 days, I thought it was an honest mistake and I tried to understand the situation, but on the forth day another charge was made for $100.70. I called back and the second manager that I spoked to said the same thing. this is very inconvenient. today is the 5th day and I'm still waiting for them to put the money back in my card. I never thought I had to have a $201.40 deposit for a dinner of $95.00 at this Restaurant.
Also keep in mind that certain people, like myself, are allergic to fish and we were not told before we ordered vegetable paella that it was cooked with fish base. The Pincho de pollo also tasted like fish so they might use it there as well. It was very unpleasant.
- Pros: valet, ambience
- Cons: service
Am coming back
by peachvixen
I did not know what to expect going there for the first time. The experience was great all around. We were seated promptly. Waitress was very patient and explained everything. They have a great selection of tapas and I wanted to try everything. Tried the cold salmon, not great and too salty; steer clear. Wonderful wine selection. Plates are bigger than most tapas restaurants. Slightly pricey, but well worth the privacy and service. Am definitely coming back to finish the menu.
- Pros: ambiance, food portions
- Cons: parking, price
Quiet Sunday nights
by foursis
8 of us when to Emilio's on a Sunday night. I was surprised at how quiet it was, but we were seated right away and had relatively quick service - two of the couples had to wait until the very end to get anything that they ordered, but the rest came out pretty regularly. Sangria was good and we were loud and stayed for a long time and the service was great.
- Pros: Pretty Quiet and never felt rushed
- Cons: make sure you tell them if you have groups and what you want first
