BEST MEXICAN FOOD. My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for over twenty years. We have brought friends and family to the Fiesta Resturant. They always come back because they have wonderful food not to mention their Margarita's. The staff member's are very polite and quick to meet your needs. I HOPE THAT THEY FINISH REMODELING SOON. I MISS THAT GREAT MEXICAN FOOD AND THEIR DELICIOUS MARGARITA'S.
A happy, satisified customer for 22 years. I'm not an expert on Mexican food, but this restaurant is one of the best...ever. I have been eating here since I was a child. (Broadway & Lawrence) The food is reasonably priced, the food is delicious, and you get a good amount of food for your money. It is worth every penny. My parents took me here when I was a child, we stayed down the street at the time. (on Wilson) I now stay on the South Side of Chicago, about 30 to 40 minutes away, and I have my own family. I would sometimes get in my car and drive all the way up here on the North Side just for this food. I would bring my parents some, too. I would burn my precious gas just to get a taste of this food. I have been going to this restaurant for 22 years, 3 generatrions, and I'm sure my children would bring their children here, too!
Best Mexican I've had for a low price. Whether you go to the location on Broadway and Lawrence by the Aragon or the location on Lincoln and Fullerton, Fiesta Mexicana has served consistant quality service and food for as long as I've been going there since summer 2001. It's simple Mexican food at it's best. Sure, go to Rick Bayless' restaurants for those "Special" occations where Mexican food is the cuisine of choice. But those everyday cravings, nothing beats this place. It's authentic, not like those other places that claim to be Nuevo-Mexican (i.e. Chipol-fake). Every weekday, stop in for their $5.95 lunch specials (flautas, enchaladas, burritos, tacos, etc) or come after 3PM and enjoy their regular menu. On the weekends, come and listen as a live band plays as you eat. Lets not forget their margarita and sangria made nice and strong, just like a drink should be made. Give this place a try if you're ever in the Lincoln Park/DePaul area or in Uptown; you won't be disappointed.
Understaffed, mediocre food, overpriced.. The only thing GOOD about our experience was getting seated quick. Other than that, it took about 5 minutes to get water & chips. The other drinks came pretty quickly though. After that we had to chase down our server everytime we needed something. My encheladas w/ steak ($2 extra) was just chopped steak wrapped in a tortilla w/ kraft-style american cheese on top. The shell on the taco salad was stale and the overall taste of it was bland. Good atmosphere, but I'm not sure how far that goes.
Dependable Mexican Spot. This is one of our favorite mexican spots in the city, and we've tried them all. The band that plays on Fridays and Saturdays is very good and the food is above average mexican. There's hardly ever a wait but always a good amount of people there to keep the atmosphere lively.
User review by EmilyDwarf. pretty average mexican food for average prices. can get pretty rambunctious in there some nights, with underaged college students and karaoke nights, etc., but staff has always been courteous and food was good.
