“cause her great location.”
“Great food, great prices.”
“have to say that for a limited menu, their entrees are good.”
“great little neighborhood place to get a yummy meal for around $10 or less a person.”
“It's not a terrible place, I just want to be clear that it's not a full-service greek restaurant and from reading the other reviews I was under the misapprehension that it was.”
“Great food, great prices.”
“If you want a quick gyro for lunch it would work, but if you're looking for a full greek dinner with variety and really quality ingredients, this is not it.”
Gyro salad-great. So yum!!!! Great everytime I have been, which is a lot. If you are looking for a relaxing and no frills kind of restaurant, this is your place
Need to accomodate. Although their manu is diverse and affordable, it isn't always accomodating to clients who because of health or nutrition reasons need to substitute certain items. A flat out rude "NO SUBSTITUTIONS" was said to me when I called to place a Feta Cheeseburger order and asked to substitute the fries for a small side salad. I figured, since I was limiting my carb intake and I felt terrible having to toss those fries out, why not simply ask to have a salad served with my burger instead of the fries!!!! And when I dined in and asked to have the Large Gyro salad and asked them to add Feta cheese, well, let me just say, I wanted to crawl under the table!!! What happened to "the customer is always right!!!!!"???????
Great food, great prices.. One of my friends told me about this place, so I decided to give it a try with my fiance. We both loved it. Friendly service, the food was delicious, and the prices where really reasonable for the quality of the food. Its right in the heart of Lincoln Park, which is a huge plus to us. The steak that I had was mouth watering. I can't get that sauce out of my mind. Its some type of olive oil, vinegar sauce that was to die for. My fiance ordered a hambuger, which seemed like it was a half pound serving(my fiance couldn't finish it as it was too large). She sayed it was one of the best hamburgers she has had in the city. I highly recommend this place.
Great food at a ridiculously good price.
Ok, I love this place. It's nothing pretentious. It doesn't try to be anything it's not. It's simply a casual restaurant that serves great food. Was there with friends earlier this week. The smell walking in the door lets you know your in for a treat.
I had the chicken kalamata(basically Greek roasted chicken) and it was delicious. It comes with french fries, made even tastier by the fact that the juice from the chicken adds more flavor to the fries!
Also, I would highly recommend the traditional Greek soup. I'm not even trying to pronounce or spell it. It isn't served all year round, only in fall and winter.
If you are in the neighborhood, give this place a shot. You won't be disappointed.
OK Food / Rude managment.
I have to say that for a limited menu, their entrees are good. However, they are missing some key Greek menu items?.can someone say Oompa?that?s right no saganaki here.
As far as service is concerned, I thought the hostess (which how she was acting) must have been an owner was a complete B****. She has obviously developed that attitude because her restaurant fills up every weekend just ?cause her great location. I saw her lecturing patrons for various reasons throughout the night about waiting for a tables, cell phones, to general etiquette. If you go there, check out the hostess, she is an older lady that is just plain rude. In fact, while eating, she takes the place of entertainment, a needed distraction from the actually interior atmosphere. Anyway, if you want decent food, but to dine in a place that wants you to feel lucky to be there, try this hole connected to Glascott's Bar.
reasonable place to get decent Greek food. great little neighborhood place to get a yummy meal for around $10 or less a person. We especially like to eat outside.
Love this place. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I love this place. I love the fact that the menu is simple, that there is not that much to overwhelm you. I love the fries with the sauce (I always get extra sauce, I would suggest that if you enjoy vinegar) I love the steak, burgers, chicken, gyros. Even my pick 5 year old daughter love the food here. I will always go here, the food never gets old for me.
This is not greek food. I saw all these great reviews so I went to check out this place, and I was extremely dissapointed. Yes, it's pretty cheap and fast service, but the menu is very limited and not paricularly good. If you want a quick gyro for lunch it would work, but if you're looking for a full greek dinner with variety and really quality ingredients, this is not it. The tzaziki is basically sour cream with garlic mixed in (I thought this was a yogurt based sauce??), the greek salad is nothing more than iceberg lettuce with some tomatoes and olives, and the spanakopita tastes like a microwaveable popover stuffed with spinach. It's not a terrible place, I just want to be clear that it's not a full-service greek restaurant and from reading the other reviews I was under the misapprehension that it was.
Greek and American cuisines commune harmoniously at this comfy, inexpensive Lincoln Park diner..
In Short
Plants hang in the windows and regulars get their own coffee refills in the dimly lit, arched-brick interior of this DePaul student hangout. A whole slew of salads and sandwiches--mostly variations on gyros, pitas and kebabs--highlight the inexpensive Greek-American menu. Highlights include Kalamata dinners like the chicken breast shish kebab: Two skewers of spicy roasted chicken chunks separated by thin slivers of onion and pepper, a pile of tomatoes and onions, plus a generous helping of mouthwatering Greek fries.
