In Short – Entering Tarantino's is a bit like walking onstage: Diners enter through a large black curtain that brings you into a a high-ceilinged, cozy room. Oak tables with candles set a romantic mood. The contemporary, seasonal menu favors light Italian food. There's always a fresh fish special and a daily risotto. The two-sausage pizza is a tempting appetizer. Pasta entrees are eye-pleasing and original, like farfalle and smoked chicken with spinach and garlic olive sauce. For dessert, spoon up luxurious chocolate cake.

Perfect place to start wrapping up the summer

by kimmcbride at Citysearch

I found this restaurant randomly on citysearch. I was looking for a restaurant that we had never tried before in this area where we could sit outside. We loved our waitress (Shelly). She was on top of things from start to finish. The food was super tasty from our appetizer to our dessert. I never wanted the dinner to end, kind of like I don't want this summer to end! We had the fried calamari that was perfect. The pasta dishes were perfect. The chocolate cake was perfect. I am still full!!! I needed this restaurant to be perfect and it did not disappoint!!! We sat outside, but the inside looked really cozy and contemporary. The manager/owner (not sure who he was) came around to make sure everything was going well, which I loved. I don't know what else to say about this place, except you need to try it if you are looking for someplace new to check out. CHECK IT OUT!!!

  • Pros: everything we ordered was good, great service, nice to be able to sit outside.
  • Cons: Typical city parking situation, need to drive around a bit to find something. (valet if needed), nice to sit outside, but patio seating wasn't anything exteptional.

Annual Visit

by schilling1 at Citysearch

We come up from Nashville once a year for a change of scenery, stay in the city and hit the shops of Armitage and Wicker Park. Tarantino's will definately be one of our 2 dining spots for the weekend. Food was great, service was great and the atmosphere was perfect.

Food: Butternut Squash Soup and Lamb Chops were perfect.

Service: nice waiter. Attentive

Atmosphere: exposed brick, high ceilings, romantic but could see where a group would also be comfortable. Great size restaurant - not too big/not too small.

I was somewhat surprised, in a restaurant this size, that the owner didn't find time to make it around and check in with any of the patrons.

I LOVE Tarantino's - always excellent with a variety of foods and tastes. Try the Rissotto and whatever fish special they have.
