“nice little neighborhood spot that was quite cozy.”
“I've been eating Pequod's for six years, and I have NEVER had a bad pie!”
“Beer & wine & a great "Pequod's" salad to start.”
“The thing that makes them stick out above the rest is that the thin crust pizza is just as good as the pan pizza.”
“The price is great cause I never walk away hungry (a small pizza is perfect for 2) This place gets my vote!”
“went in friday night expecting everyone to be nice and friendly since all me friends have recommended this place to me.”
“The price is right as you only need to order a small pan for 2 people (unless you are a super BIG eater).”
“(Note: a thick pizza will take about 45 minutes--soooo worth the wait) I get delivery from and dine-in at the city location and have never had a bad experience.”

Chicago-style pizza is NOT all created equal. Although there's not much artistry to Pequod's, the caramelized crust turns me into the hungriest of lions - one that can eat an entire large pie. Grrr.
Might be the best in Chicago. But....only get the thick pizza. The thin is just another pizza. Atmosphere is great. A hustle and bustle t it
I miss you already. I have recently moved from Chicago and dreamnt of Pequods last night. Their caramelized crust and amazing ingredients made this place a staple for my family. I am thinking of driving back for a pie this weekend. :)
Windy City Pizza Club.
I went to Pequod's Pizzeria in Lincoln Park tonight with Windy City Pizza Club. They took our reservation because we had a large party and honored it with a nice table in the upstairs area. The tables were nice, but the lighting was poor. I suppose the building is just old though. The menu was pretty good with a basic amount of pizza which was expected from places that specialize in making good crust.
I ordered a Pan Sausage 10 inch which is a pretty awesome size wise as it feeds 1-2 people with 4 giant slices. I really like burnt crust and this was awesome stuff. They caramelize the crust to a dark brown color and crunchy texture. The pizza itself was good, not great as it had way too much tomato sauce. I really liked the crust and sausage!
Obviously, I was with a group of 20 people which usually results in semi slower service, but shouldn't have been this slow. I am not sure if they didn't have enough servers on, but it was pretty terrible. By far the worst service I have ever had at a pizza place. Don't get me wrong, our waitress was sweet and nice and helped us out, but it was extra slow tonight. The pizza's took almost an hour to come out, and some pizza's got screwed up in the kitchen and came out even later than that. Water service was slow but not important as there were no bus boys on duty.
Again, the pizza was definitely good, not great, and our waitress was nice, but the actual service wasn't good. The check actually came out with just a bunch of numbers on it. We had no clue what they stood for until we had it clarified for us. I would go back, but not with a large group.
Best pan pizza ever!. Pequods pan pizza is chicago"s best. their service is good and fast, its a chill spot for sure except weekends it gets so crowded that you may want to get here early or make reservations and by the way parking is pretty bad,but other than that i highly recommended.
I go to Chicago for this pizza. I have never lived in Chicago, but occasionally visit for business and/or visits with friends. I discovered Pequod's after visiting a friend in Lincoln Park and it has been my favorite pizza ever since. I've taken co-workers, friends, and family there when we've been in town. The pizza is unlike any I've ever eaten--it's the best. I don't know what else to say here, other than I've hopped in many a Chicago cab and told them to take me "near Webster and Clyburn" to Pequod's in my southern accent (I've never lived above the Mason Dixon line). That may disqualify me from judging pizza in some people's minds, but I guarantee you that if you eat a pizza at Pequod's, you'll know what I mean. It's been way too long...need to plan a trip.
yumm. who is this register girl she was terrible... I went in friday night expecting everyone to be nice and friendly since all me friends have recommended this place to me... I went and got my pick up... the first two girls and the front table helped me right away... one of them went to go check on me pizza she came back and told me it would be five minutes... NO PROBLEM... the other girl asked me if i wanted to seat at the bar while i waited and i ordered a drink the bartender guy was hilarious! then the register girl (the one that looks like a man with a big nose) comes up to me all snobby and asked me if i wanted to pay... there are alot pretier girls in this restaurant and were not walking around thinkning that they were alot better than everyone.. the pizza is expensive but delicious... my fiance and i finished it so quickly... it was just so delicious... all of the employees were great i'm sure we all hate people who think they are better then everyone... maybe it's just me but i despise ugly snobby girls... other then that yes i will go back to pequod's YUMMMMMM
Great Place for Pizza. Pequod's isn't anything fancy - actually, it's a bit "rundown" but that doesn't matter when you're going for great pizza. I'm partial to the pan pizza, so my comments are directed to the pan pizza. The service is quick and the staff is really friendly. Every once in awhile, I order their par baked pizza to cook at home and it always tastes as good as it does in the restaurant.
My favorite pizza. This is one of my favorite pizza places in the city. I enjoy the pan pizza much more than the stuffed "Chicago style" crust. Since the fire, they have definitely cleaned the place up, so it's likely they'll get more customers who were afraid to come in before. Although I didn't mind the "dive" experience that Pequod's used to provide, you can't ignore the fact that the pan pizza is still excellent. The carmelized crust is fantastic. The service can be slow, but consider that part of the relaxing experience. Watch the game. Enjoy the pizza!
Greatest delivery ever, skip the restaurant. Pequod's has Chicago's greatest deep dish, hands down. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for it's waitstaff. Each time we have gone to the restaurant, we've found it to be slow and unorganized. We've vowed to stick to delivery. The thin crust pizza is VERY thin, be prepared. The pan pizza is absolutely my favorite-topped liberally with toppings and with a great crust. I would highly recommend this to any fan of Chicago deep dish, and would chose it over the "famous" deep dish places any day of the week!
average, bland crust.
NOT the best Chicago pizza. No one can even compare it to NYC thin crust. I ate the thin crust here, not the pan pizza. It was a lot like Ranalli's.
I dont understand why everyone on this site thinks this is great pizza. I dont get it.
