“Great neighborhood pizza place”
“His pizza is the best and most delicious at fair prices and all of our friends frequent the place - it's great for singles, couples or families and delivery too!”
“agree with the editorial review - this pizzeria is convenient by location, but I wouldn't go there again for pizza, and I don't like Italian Beef sandwiches.”

“John employs so many students who are working their way through college and he provides a fun, friendly atmosphere in which to earn money.”
Mediocre Pizza, now closed, moved to SoNo. I remember going here with my dad when in school and it was okay, but very overpriced. Still do no know why they moved from the Sheffield neighborhood in Lincoln Park to the SoNo neighborhood on the Near North Side (one full block NW of Cabrini-Green). This location has a four story condominium building on site now.
Best Pizza on the North Side. If you like thin crust pizza, you won't find better than Tomato Head, at least the North Side. The crust is thin and crisp, with very tasty sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Pat's used to be my favorite, but I like Tomato Head's crust much better I prefer to take the pizza out, but dining there is fine too if you don't mind very casual and maybe a little noisy. Try it.
Bogus Reviews. This is below average pizza at best. The delivery times are awful for this place and as far as being there for the students, what kind of college pizza delivery business shuts down early every night? Interesting that the best review (and first) is from the owner himself. Hey Mr. Karabas, leave the reviews to the customers--this isn't a billboard for advertising now that we know YOU are the OWNER. Way to go Citysearch!
Best pizza Find.
This place is has the Best thin crust pizza in Chicago hands down. Pat bruno from the Sun Times was right when he called this place " Chicagos neighborhood hot spot."
You have to check it out Lincoln Park and West Loop
Great neighborhood pizza place. This place has great pizza and good salads and sandwiches too. The lunch specials are a good deal and its in a good location. Their day and night delivery is helpful as well.
DePaul students and neighborhood families fill this bustling B.Y.O.B. pizza joint..
In Short
University students, post-grads and professors are regulars for lunch and dinner at this casual eatery, where you order at the counter and wait for your name to be called by the college-aged staff. Pizza comes super thin, with about 20 topping options. The menu also includes homemade turkey chili, Italian sausage, turkey burgers, barbecue pork and Italian beef. A lunch deal gets you sandwich, fries and a drink at a cheap-eats price.
no taste pizza. I agree with the editorial review - this pizzeria is convenient by location, but I wouldn't go there again for pizza, and I don't like Italian Beef sandwiches. Too bad, it sure is in the right place - but the reviewer was right, no taste cheese, no taste sauce, and cardboard crust. Too bad. The collegial atmosphere is friendly and trendy, but it can't make up for bad food.
Tomato Head Is Tops. This neighborhood freindly Pizza Restaurant is owned by John Karabas, who meets and greets his customers all the time. I don't know what your reviewers problem is but if she knew anything about it she'd know that the Tribune Cheap Eats gave this place a top rating of 3 forks and the Sun-Times gave it a glowing write up as well as one of the top pizza places in the city! John employs so many students who are working their way through college and he provides a fun, friendly atmosphere in which to earn money. It sounds like your reviewer wants spicy pizza? His pizza speaks to Chicago Thin Crust Lovers! His pizza is the best and most delicious at fair prices and all of our friends frequent the place - it's great for singles, couples or families and delivery too!
