Editorial Review for The Copa – by Allison Knab

In Short
Red and gold vintage wallpaper and a zebra-striped wooden bar create a retro vibe at this neighborhood lounge. Early comers can choose from three booths dwarfed by enormous dome lights or a few tables in the front and back of the bar. DJs spin mostly hip-hop and rock on weekends for an upbeat crowd. Six taps and a full bar provide libations for locals looking for a place to call home.

A friend and I had a late dinner near Copa and saw the sign so we tried it. I wish we hadn't. The place has a very strong metrosexual feel, a trend that died several years ago. I don't mind some smoke in a bar, but I've never gagged on it as I did at Copa. The drinks we had were just so-so, and it took 10 minutes to get them as the bartender could not be distracted from gabbing with her friends. I'll take my hard-earned money to a friendlier bar that does not treat its customers as annoyances like Copa does.

Totally cool place with hot women and lots of cool stuff in this place: COPA. I liked the retro design , felt like Sinatra was gonna show up! But he would have to listen to cooler tunes played by DJs. I didn't see any bad attitude from anyone there!!

Pros: cool martinis, lots of specials, cool music
