The Scene – Despite the tony Lincoln Park address, Ravens is refreshingly frills-free, which is immediately evident as one descends into the dusky basement entrance. Votive candles flicker against the deep-red walls, low-coffered ceiling and framed antique maps of Chicago. The small, rectangular space holds only six or so tables, plus a sprinkling of bar stools; the rest is standing room. Lots of booze goes down the hatch here, powered by a thirsty after-hours crowd, including workers from nearby restaurants and bars. – – The Draw – Night-movers are in heaven, blowing…

I was recently traveling around the country getting stories for my friends travel book he's working on,and while in Chicago stopped in this place after walking around the city all day,I walk in and say ,"are you guys open?" to the bartender,at which point this guy (who i'm assuming is the owner, maybe just a regular,a classless jerk either way) sitting at the end of the bar near the one other guy in the place says "you got cash Pal?" at which point I'm a little caught off gaurd at the meaness of this cretent. And I say "yah I got plenty of cash and start to leave when the kind female bartender tells me to stay it's okay he's not mad" I think to myself ,who cares if this idiot is mad,and go back to order explaining to the bartender that I just really need a beer cause i'm tired from walking all day, at which point wisenheimers mouth opens again and says"Nobody cares pal" So I decide to leave not wanting to here this jerk all night and head out the door.I'm already out the door going up the stairs when Moron says to the bartender "don't worry I'll take care of this guy,Hit the road pal" ,And I'm thinking ,yah Yuh think so idiot <i'm obviously already doing that moron, the choice was mine not yours. So ant ways I told my friends in Chicago to never go there. Enjoy the review Idiot!
- Pros: The college age female barteneders were nice, thats it.
- Cons: tThe owner (i think) was complete rude, aggresive, moron.

An old friend took me here last week.
The other reviews and the picture seem to be a little outdated.
This place is officially a DIVE.
Geez, not the place to take a girl your interested in, at least.
I played the "when in Rome" thing, but I won't be going out with that guy again.
- Pros: Ugly, dirty, worn out, smelly
- Cons: the bartender did what she could with what she had to work in. She was very pleasant.

Ravens is a good place to meet people and not spend a ton of money. The juke box has a decent selection, but can use a little more R & B. Drink are affordable and the bartenders don't make you wait an hour for a cocktail.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Lot of Single
- Cons: Can be too crowded
