The Scene – Although Danny's was actually someone's pad more than 50 years ago, the Bucktown tavern is more swank smoking den than fraternity mixer. Try not to stick out if it's your first time here, as most of the lounging lizards are regulars. Leave your overt drunken nature at home, too. Obnoxious behavior isn't tolerated. – – The Draw – The well-stocked bar greets you with potently poured drinks by grungy young bartenders. Whether you're looking for solitude or you're with a group of friends, head to the back for sparsely furnished semi-private alcoves with leather…

Just another hipster bar...

by rachel_hoo

Meh...this place was just like any other hipster bar. Trendy, crowded on weekends, hard to find a place to sit, expensive drinks, even on the weekdays. Music was fairly good. Nothing to write home about, though.

  • Pros: Music, decor
  • Cons: expensive, crowded, boring at times

Love it!

Good music and comfortable atmosphere. Great stopoff on your way down to wicker park especially on a weeknight.

Danny's is still a laid-back neighborhood staple

by lurchl

Always a good time every time I have gone, Danny's consistently has a cool vibe and great DJs spinning interesting stuff. A great dim ambiance alludes more to a house party than a bar. They've got a nice selection of drafts, though actually getting a drink can sometimes be trying just because the bar itself is pretty small. A cool place to grab a couch and hang out with friends. Also, it should be noted that this ain't the place for high-fiving baseball hats.
