The Scene
Liar's Club attracts locals who can appreciate the finer moments of the last 20-plus years of rock and roll with a Pabst Blue Ribbon. With a laid-back atmosphere, a dirty sound system and an impressive selection of classic KISS memorabilia, Liar's Club draws a crowd of regulars and fills with yuppies and college crew on the weekends.
The Draw
Formerly hosting Chicago's longest running drum-and-bass night (Dubshack's "Brockout"), Liar's Club now calls itself home to the same DJs on the third Thursday of the month with "Cosmic Breaks presents Root" for the same $5 cover charge. But on weekdays, it's a perfect place to hear your favorite forgotten rock classics. Wednesdays serve up "What a Way to Go-Go" and $2 Maker's Mark specials, while Friday and Saturday give way to dance music, mixed drinks and an opened second floor (complete with pool table and even a KISS pinball machine) to accommodate the weekend crowd.

This is a very minimalist West Lincoln Park urban dance bar. Mostly when you come here, you do it simply to drink, but there are a few ways to entertain yourself, including a compact dance floor with a mirror ball. There's an upstairs room open on weekends with plenty of couch space for lounging and a pool table. Admission is $3 Friday & Saturday.

No one take this place seriously. You must be completely wasted to enjoy yourself. I would never suggest that it's difficult to enjoy yourself here, but you MUST know beforehand what you're getting yourself into. The music is ridiculous, the people are ridiculous, and if you're here, you will most likely be ridiculous as well. Slutty girls will definitely be found on the dance floor, as well as Naked Guy. Yes, this place is infamous for its most frequent guest, endearingly known as Naked Guy. The reason for his name is self-evident. The place is on Fullerton not far from the river, and the only thing that indicates from the outside that you're not stepping into some whorehouse or heroin den is a tiny sign that says Liars Club. Don't be afraid, you're in the right place. This is the spot you go to once your group realizes collectively that it has gotten way too drunk, and feels like dancing.

I used to have some good times. The place is awesome. It gets a little crowded, but so much fun. I love the upstairs lounging area. Good times. I think everyone should try it once.
