Response to AFD’s libelous statements:. 1. “We do not know whether the injury was sustained at our facility...” This statement is misleading:

a. AFD has a statement from Dr. Shule at Blum Animal Hospital saying that the injuries were more than 24 hrs old on 12/28.

b. Joan Nieman, VP, agrees that the evidence shows AFD’s liability. Per her email on 2/5: “Since we agreed to pay for the ear abrasion already, this letter from Dr. Shule only validates our previous decision to cover medical bills for Ellie's first visit.”

2. Why did no one notice the injury?

a. A valid question, but one for your staff. Absence of staff during group play is evident.

b. Injuries were noticed upon exiting the building. Our first course of action was to seek/give medical attention THEN call AFD.

3. “…she responded by threatening to continue her campaign to smear All For Doggies name & reputation.”

a. AFTER THE FACT, AFD made my silence a condition of settlement. If & only if I removed my reviews from public sites, would they issue a check so I could recoup the losses suffered as a result of AFD’s negligence.

b. I will not remove my commentary until the matter is fully resolved- there is still a BBB complaint & a court case pending.

4. “We agreed to pay medical expenses”

a. From this I infer you are offering $321.09- expenses, less surgery.

b. I believe offering to pay for exams & medicine involved with the injuries is an admittance of guilt.

c. By injuring an older dog, you are not immune to the costs & obligations of bringing her fully back to health. Distichia may have played a role in causing the ulcer to become indolent. But for the initial trauma that caused the ulcer, Ellie would not have needed surgery. Because AFD is responsible for the initial trauma, it was foreseeable that an older animal may require additional care.

As AFD knowingly misrepresented the facts & are working to publically defame my character & reputation, I am now in a position to seek damages for libel.

Stay clear of All For Doggies. Nothing about All For Doggies is good. Don't let the name fool you they are anything but all for dogs. I have boarded my dogs several times at other places & have never had any issues after the stay. After the stay at All For Doggies the dogs came back beaten up and needed medical attention. I would compare All For Doggies to a concentration camp, if you board your pets there is a really good chance they may die or come back maimed.

If you love your dog find another place.

As a company that is built on our love of animals, we were stunned to read the false allegations in "Aimee C’s" review and feel we must respond to set the record straight.

Here are the facts: "Aimee C" boarded her two dogs, Mia and Ellie, with us from December 23rd to December 28th. The dogs, who are about the same size, shared a suite and participated in daycare with other dogs throughout their stay.

When "Aimee C's" fiancee picked up her dogs, he spent 4-5 minutes in the lobby greeting the dogs and visiting with our staff. At times he was at eye-level with the dogs in their rigorous greeting. There was no evidence of injury, not to him or to our staff. If this person noticed anything at the time, why didn't he mention it? Why did 5 hours elapse before anyone notified our staff that there was any sign of a problem?

We were very surprised when "Aimee C" phoned us at approximately 4 p.m. that day to report that one of her pets was injured. She faxed us the clinical report from her veterinarian, which stated that one of her dogs had a corneal ulcer in one eye and her left ear had an abrasion. Again, contrary to her claim of staff abuse, the vet report clearly notes: “suspect bite wound”, indicating this was an animal-inflicted injury (for the ear wound).

Minor scuffles can occur between dogs sharing a suite – even dogs from the same household – as well as in daycare. Sometimes, a scuffle will result in injury to one of the dogs. When that happens, we immediately contact the owner and ask permission to seek medical attention for the pet.

In this case, no one on our staff noticed any injury to either dog. In fact, we took a photo of the dogs on December 27 (which "Aimee C" received via email), and there is no evidence of eye injury (the ear flap is not visible in the picture).

We do not know whether the injury was sustained at our facility, during the car ride, some stop in between, or when the dogs arrived home. Even so, we offered to cover the cost of Ellie’s veterinary treatment. We made the offer in a good faith effort to do the responsible thing, since it is possible – although very unlikely, as explained above -- that the injuries occurred while the dogs were in our care.

Our offer was verbally accepted by "Aimee C" at first; however, a few days later, she suddenly demanded more money, saying Ellie had a pre-existing condition that was keeping the ulcer from healing. In fact, Ellie’s condition can actually cause ulcers. Her own veterinary ophthalmologist said there is “The potential recurrence of ulcers elsewhere on the cornea as well as in the other eye due to underlying basement disease.”

When we advised "Aimee C" that we would not take responsibility for her dog’s pre-existing condition, she responded by threatening to continue her campaign to smear All for Doggies name and reputation.

While we are deeply distressed by the many misrepresentations in "Aimee C’s posts" – especially her charges against our staff – we will not be blackmailed. We greatly appreciate the positive comments other clients have written here in response. It is wonderful to see our love and care for pets reflected in the words of so many clients.

Animal Cruelty and Neglect. There should be a negative rating...especially when a facility that claims to love animals pens them up in what amount to a dungeon and neglects their medical needs.

My fiance and I brought our dogs here over the holidays 2009. I received two emails from the company saying that the dogs were well. (Lies)

When my fiance picked the dogs up from All for Doggies, one of the dogs had a severe and obvious eye infection...diagnosed as a corneal ulcer. (The most common way for a corneal ulcer to occur is trauma. It may result from blunt trauma or from a laceration, such as an animal scratch. Another common cause is chemical burn of the cornea.)

Upon closer examination, the dog had signs of trauma to her head and left ear. All for Doggies defense seems to be that they left my dog alone with an aggressive dog and did not pay proper attention to the animals. NOR did they appreciate the profuse bleeding that must have occurred as a result of this injury. Animal neglect is not a great defense...not in my book any way.

Now that I have produced ample medical documentation siting that the attack occured while my dog was in the care of All for Doggies, they are offering to pay a PORTION of the $1500 in medical bills! What's more, they would like me gagged before they pay. SO - this will happen to your animals because they want to bury the problem.

I am surprised and disgusted with the neglect and abuse my dogs suffered at the hands of All for Doggies. I am guessing that All for Doggies isn't surprised by this. In fact, they even have an indemnification clause for THEIR NEGLECT in their contract. Get this "...Owner further agrees that All for Doggies will not in any way be responsible or liable for any injuries, harm, damages, losses of any type whatsoever sustained by owner, owner's pet or any of owner's property even if All for Doggies, its officers, agents or employees are negligent or fail to provide the proper standard of care in any way and/or in caring for, handling, or supervising owner's pet."

I have filed a report with my vet, the Illinois Dept. of Agriculture and BBB. And now, we are off to court!

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THIS CARE FACILITY!!!

My Dogs' Home Away From Home. I have used All For Doggies for Day Care and Barding for almost 2 years. Having 2 dogs and not being home during the day and traveling for work I needed a place for my dogs to go and be happy and safe. The staff at AFD are wonderful, they care for Lasey and Chopper as I would. From picking them up for Day Care to the friendly service I get when I call they are great. I can tell each time I return from traveling that they have been well taken care of and got the love and attention they need. The location is spread out and allows the dogs to have ample room to play. They work with trainers whom I have had work with my dogs and have seen very good results. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a place to send your Canine family member while you're at work or traveling.

Worth the drive. Mac loves boarding and being able to play with the other dogs while I am away. He comes home smiling and tired. I will continue to use them and tell everyone about it. So ill Mac. WOOF!
