A harried Merchandise Mart crowd grabs crispy panini, strong coffee and booze at this gourmet and wine shop.. In Short
Tucked next to the riverside center entrance on the ground level of the Merchandise Mart, this all-day gourmet shop touts itself as a wine shop, but ends up doing brisker lunch business with half a dozen panini. Options like jamon Serrano with manchego arrive perfectly crisp outside and gooey inside. Canned fizzy orange juice and strong coffee are great accompaniments. Oh yeah--the wine selection is also well-edited.

VINO TREASURES in an ALCOVWE. In a tiny alcove of a superior deli shop, probably the best sandwiches und only good food in the building, it is located off the South lobby of the Merchandise Mart on Wells Street. Inside there ist a clue to treasures and exquisite tastes of the owners, there hangs a symbol of Italia automobilia art namely Alfa Romeo marque. This shop is a tiny alcove of vintner's heaven named THE ARTISAN CELLAR.



It is like stepping into a secret magical space where there are actually precious treasures to be found, ja, no make believe?



I have been in there 3 times and always found wines of legend that I have read about many times but never once saw on a shelf. Each time I also noticed invaluable items gone from offer because I couldn't act to buy them on previous trip.



Such Collectable treasures. I can hardly wait to go back when I am able to transport some collectables back home safely, versus on a plane, or post freight? Si, not soon enough..



Do not be shy, and act to buy these wonders of vino, yes, so you may also treasurer this living works of art for yourself and family.

Great vino & service. Team Splashi discovered ?The Artisan Cellar? this fine establishment is located at 222 Merchandise Mart Plaza suite # 116 Main Floor.

This wine shop is not just that, also it offers great variety of cheeses and smoked meat that you can pair with your nectar.

This shop is a must for any gourmet aficionado.

Great wine boutique, panini shop. I sometimes stop by this wine boutique on the way home from work to buy a bottle of wine, and I'm always tempted by the delicious aroma of panini. While many of the wines are very expensive, there are several that hover around the $10 to $15 range. The selection of coffees, olive oils and vinegar, plus cheese and meats in the deli counter are a bonus.
