a great place in town for tailoring. they made me happy and gave me what i wanted, i came in and had a idea of how i wanted my dress to be made and i gave them my idea and they did it for me and my dress turned out to be beautiful and i really like it its just they way i wanted it.

Blame Customers for Their Mistakes Only want $$. I will NEVER go back to this place again!! They ruined two very expensive jackets!

The woman took the wrong measurements and despite my bringing this to her attention, proceeded to use those wrong measurements. I came back a week later to pick up my jackets and they were EXTREMELY tight on me. I could not lift my arms at all! They blamed me for not knowing how to WEAR a jacket... According to them, they a completely blameless and it is my fault they made a mistake... oh wait, they didn't make a mistake at all!

I was still required to pay for these items of clothing. I have no idea whether these garments are salvageable, but you can bet I'm not going back there to get them re-done! I think I'll try place where the owners actually speak English and behave in a professional manner.

BEST PROM DRESS EVERRRRR. I had my prom dress made here and it was exactly how i wanted it. Every thing i asked to be done was done perfectly.

Friendly Family owned Tailor; great results. I had two suits significantly altered by Sew special and they did a great job. One two piece and one three piece. They now fit and are perfectly tailored to my body. The service there was responsive and quick to alter pieces to my liking after the work was completed and I came in for my fittings. The staff here cares about their craft and creating pieces that look good on their customers. I have already gone back a second time to have 2 shirts refitted.

They charge you for their mistakes--always late. I have used sew special on many occasions and have had the same problem several times, In addition to being expensive to begin with, is they will charging you to correct a job they did wrong. If you are unhappy with the fit, you will pay again and again for every seam. Thus turing a $45 job, into a $75 job.

I brought a dress into to be restyled . When I picked it up was unwearable because the armholes were so loose you could see my entire chest, They insisted on charging me more to add the extra seams. This has happened on several occasions, but the way I was treated was the last straw.

When I told him it was unfair, he basically said my business was of no importance to him--very arrogant. I have spent exactly $2,417.00 over the past year there and am not a complainer. I feel the owner has no appreciation for his customers.

Beware, he will also push you to write a review for him right away. I caution you to wait until you have had several experiences there. He actually berated me for not giving him a review on several occasions. Well here it is Mike,,,,I am very disappointed in their underhanded and money grubbing practices.

Also, do not use them if getting an item back on time is important to you. They were late with my orders at least 50% of the time.

I think their work was good, but it is not that hard to find a tailor who can do the job and not try and rip you off and insult you!!!

Great tailor. Great service.. I've brought many clothes to Sew Special Tailors -- mainly jeans and button-down shirts -- and they've come through every time. They listened to what I wanted, and if it wasn't quite right the first time, they went back and made it perfect. More than other tailors I've been to, they pay attention to every detail, and I think that's what sets them apart.

Great People Great Job. Well i've been trying to find an occasion dress for this big event i had and ive been going everywhere just to find a simple black dress but i couldn't find a right one that i liked. everywhere i went they told me i couldn't order a dress because it was too late. At the end i decided to come to sew special and see what they would tell me if they would make me a dress. i had three weeks and they told me they can. what a relief. that same day they took my measurements and told me to come the following week. I had a wonderful time there. Pleasant people. Very nice and at the end I got a wonderful beautiful black dress just the way i wanted it just in time for the event i had. Thank you!

A Friendly, Family Owned Tailor Shop With Unexpected Style. After a heart attack a year ago, I have been working very hard to lose weight, and my wardrobe is in constant transition. Fortunately, a co-worker suggested that I try Sew Special--which happens to be just a block or two from my condo. I have to say that my experience has been very consistent and very good. In a world where hand tailoring and a sense of style are increasingly rare, the owner of this family run business has both in abundance. They do good work, they care about their customers, they meet their promise dates, and their prices are reasonable. This place has already saved me a fortune--and made me feel better about myself. How do you beat that?

Best Tailor in Chicago, Hands Down. I have had six suits tailored from SewSpecial over the past year, and I have never been dissapointed. Every suit I have fits perfectly - they know how to exactly fit a suit for your body type. SewSpecial is not your average Dry Cleaner tailor, they are experts - prices are very reasonable, and they are extremely efficient. My $300 suits now look and feel like $2000 Valentinos

Expert Tailors. We use the services of Sew Special to custom create our hotel bedding. The service is excellent and the cost is reasonable. We would recommend their services to anyone for business or personal use.
