"Just to put a warning out there...I moved to Chicago in Feb of 2011 from Savannah, GA and rented an apartment that is managed by Congregation Bnei Ruvin in Park Place Tower. From the very beginning I had problems with the landlord fulfilling his promises. I flew to Chicago to view apartments and this one in particular had a lot of potential and was in an amazing location. The apartment had a few issues that the landlord promised to fix like disgusting furniture left by the previous tenant, cigarette burn holes in the carpet, drug (heroin) paraphernalia left in the apartment, and the master closet having been used as a bathroom for pets that was so saturated with urine that it had eaten through the wood of the shelving. They said everything would be fixed by the time I moved in. They did nothing. They refused to do a walk through to see the damage left by the previous tenant and I was forced to do a photographic walk through. I ultimately fixed the apartment up on my own dime as I could not afford to take the landlord to court at the time. Now I am coming to the end of the lease and am worried about someone else experiencing such a terrible slum lord. BEWARE OF BNEI RUVEN AND RABBI BARACH HERTZ!!!!"
