produce is excellent

excellent produce at a reasonable price and the warm fresh baked cheese bread near the check out aisles for 1.39 per small loaf is to die for! it will have you going back for more! i will say the other groceries besides produce/fresh bakery are more expensive but well worth the trip for produce/ warm fresh breads....
for $14 only i got 2 mangos, a vine ripe tomato, cheese bread, 1/2 lb deli sliced muenster, 2 avacados, 4lb bag nice naval oranges, 1.64 lb golden delicious apples, 3 lb bag of tangerines. in poor comparison this was after i'd stopped at another market, rogers park fruit market, spending $16 for 2 pints strawberries, 2 pints blueberries, 3 nectarines, 5 red delicious apples, 1 lb bag of baby carrots. i feel i got a lot more for my money at devon. the one pound pkg of strawberries at devon was 50 cents cheaper than what i paid for a pint at rogers fruit market. a mango at rogers fruit cost 1.29 while they are 2 for a dollar at devon. and so on ...the ONLY thing i spent less on was the carrots being 20 cents cheaper at rogers...not a big savings there...avacados/tomatoes were double the price at rogers as well...
- Pros: cheap, nice/ripe produce and excellent fresh breads, ample parking
- Cons: non-produce/bakery not as reasonable, import deli tilapia from china=bad environmentally
