Chicago >Mc Grath City Honda
Aside from a very annoying mishap which involved making an appointment that never showed up in their computers (and forcing me to make a 2nd trip to the place), I have had a good experience with these guys (I dealt with Bill). I went in to have the airbags on my Honda replaced because they had been recalled by the company, and while I was at it decided to make some needed repairs: timing belt package, and some other stuff. They got the repairs done fast and even lent me one of their cars for free while they were working on my car! Wow, that was cool. To be honest, I was initially suspicious that they might be cheating me in some way because they discovered some things wrong with my car that my previous mechanic had not told me about, and I'd read all these negative reviews on Yelp. I don't know squat about cars, so I really had no way of knowing if they were being straight with me. So I called another mechanic in town randomly and asked him if it seemed plausible that a car of mine's age (2001) would need XYZ repairs, and if the price was reasonable. He confirmed it all sounded on the up-and-up, and so that is why I'm giving them a positive review. They also washed my car for me both times I had to go in there, which was a nice touch.
Excellent service... Attention is the best and help to find the best deal so customer can be happy... Highly recommended and the best is that the car You want can be yours
I don't know where to begin............the people who work at McGrath City are Fab!!! Jody rocked and Kissy and her sister were terrific! They answered all my silly questions and even gave me some cake, it was yummy! I am still smiling today!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my car , and I am so happy it was so easy to go thru all the steps, you really have a GREAT staff! I have recommended your dealership to my friends with high marks!!!
Ruby & Dariusz were amazing! Quote was honored that they provided online. Had lowest price around & Dariusz said to come to him whenever I need service.
My original visit to McGrath was to solicit a donation/support for my Fraternity's Educational Foundation. In addition, I visited your showroom as I will be in the market for a new car in approximately 3-4 months. I decided to participate in this survey because of the excellent customer service I received from Carolyn Driver. Her demeanor was very professional, courteous, and kind. She is a great representive for McGrath, as well as your other staff who offered to assist me when I arrived. I will definitely return and hope to purchase a car as well. I will definitely ask for Carolyn Driver when I return. Kudos and a job well done Carolyn Driver!
As McGrath Honda was close to my home,
I wanted to purchase my car here though I visited other dealerships.
We visited them almost around closing time on a Saturday evening but they did not rush us. Jose was very patient and gave us complete info about the car we were looking for.
He and his management made sure that we were satisfied by striking a deal very close to what we actually wanted to pay for the car which is greatly appreciated.
Though the color was not available at their location, they did not force us to purchase what they had but made sure that they gave me what I wanted.
I love my car and would surely suggest McGrath Honda to anyone who is looking out for a great deal along with good buying experience.
Went it with car in mind and Frank helped us, detailing everything we wanted to know about car. First car purchase and it went very smoothly. Couldn't ask for anything more. Frank was honest and detailed and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Our new car is amazing and we look forward to driving it a lot. We will be coming back for sure!
I never had any problem with the dealership . I love my truck and service is very good. And all the employees are very too.I hope they be that way all time.
Shopped for a car and was treated well. My car is great.
This is your guide to dealing with the used car department at McGrath City Honda. It is intended for first time buyers, such as myself, who don't know the common or even obvious traps that a buyer can fall into. Now I know, it won't happen again and I most certainly won't return here to purchase a vehicle new or used.
1) Dealing with the sales person is exactly what you've heard. Haggle over the price, they will make it work. No matter how many times they disappear to "talk to the manager" it's all the common BS you're imagining will happen prior to going in.
2) Once you have agreed upon a price, no matter what the sales person says or no matter what you sign in terms of pricing sheets with the sales person, it means nothing. THE NEGOTIATIONS AND SALES HAVE NOT YET ENDED.
3)Even though I thought "finance manager" sounded more like "accountant" to me, THEY ARE JUST ANOTHER SALES PERSON IN THE PROCESS.
4)The BS warranty packages, which include mechanical warranties, interior/exterior warranties, GAP Protection, Tire and Wheel warranties and lojack are your choice but THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. What they won't tell you is the price of these packages unless you really really poke and prod (which I didn't do).
(Side note: Its your call if you want the warranty or not, but, they are typically up to 100,000 miles. In my opinion, the chances of the scary $5000 repair for the transmission "falling out" before 100,000 miles are pretty slim.)
5)The number they write down on the warranty sheet (IE. $400) IS NOT THE COST OF THE PACKAGE, BUT YOUR NEW MONTHLY PAYMENT
6)When you go to sign the final financing contract and when they divert your attention to the bottom of the sheet and get you started initialing things like "make and model" and the vin, THIS IS A TACTIC TO DIVERT YOU AWAY FROM THE FACT THAT YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT JUST WENT UP $100 DUE TO WARRANTY ITEMS BEING ADDED AND THE NEW AMOUNT FINANCED IS ENOUGH TO BUY A NEW CAR
7)The payment summary sheet they print up at the end of it all that is closer to the price you THOUGHT you were paying and is $100 LESS than the payment on the contract may or may not have been due to "a computer glitch" but that is not binding, the contract is.
As you can see by what I listed above, you can walk in thinking you are paying a certain price for a car and walk out thinking you got the discussed price when in reality you signed a contract that is much different. This isn't information they will dwell on and make sure you understand. So don't make the mistake I did, know what you are signing, look everything over, bring someone with you that knows whats going on and pay particular attention to THE TOP OF FINANCE CONTRACT that says exactly how much you are financing and how much your monthly payment will be. Everything else is just junk to confuse and deceive.
I was naive in thinking they would take me serious when I told them I'm on a budget. But it's pretty obvious they did not care. My mistake
