Wonderful catering. Great caterers!! I've never eaten in the restaurant, but they catered our wedding and it was absolutely fabulous. The food was so delicious--it was all vegetarian because that's what we asked for, but even the most carnivorous of our relatives love the food! And the staff was amazing. They help with everything from distributing the wedding programs to helping us get good photos, in addition to the food-service related work. And the room looked gorgeous!

They also cost much less than the corporate-type caterers we looked into. Real people who cooperate with you to keep costs down while not compromising quality.

Haute Cuisine in Hyde Park. A dining experience worthy of the best of Chicago, tucked away in a shopping mall in Hyde Park. Excellent French cuisine in an elegant, quiet setting. An outstanding choice of wines. Friendly, courteous service. Easy parking in mall.

Hyde Park bistro offers an upscale alternative to university fare.. In Short
Tucked away in a U-shaped strip mall next to the Hyde Park Co-Op, this unpretentious bistro attracts University of Chicago professors and other diners from the neighborhood. White tablecloths, stemware and subdued lighting offer a rare romantic option this far south of downtown. The kitchen turns out starters like a stacked ring of beets, celery root and carrots, pan-seared foie gras and garlicky escargots, as well as herb-roasted chicken, duck, quail and lamb.

Hyde Park's saving grace. LaPF accomplishes its goal: to provide good (i.e. better than average) classic French fare in a relaxed and sophisticated envirnoment. There are both hits and misses, but well worth repeat visits for the seared duck breast (among the best in the City) with red cabbage, sesame crusted tuna with lentils, and rack-of-lamb. Misses are for the most part limited to the desserts and inexperienced service. The soups are always good and served hot! A well-priced wine list of some very good Frech varietals.
