“Seven Treasures has good food for a good value.”
Not the place it used to be. Very disapointing!!!!. I went there with family and friends for our usual Chinese New Year meal, and the food was greasy, and poorly prepared. I don't know what happened to this place. On top of it all, a potsticker had a piece of steel wool embedded into the skin. My 9 year old daughter was about to eat these! When I brought it to the attention of the waitstaff (in Chinese no less...I speak the language), they shrugged it off, and brought it back to the kitchen without even an apology! I am very disappointed. The food overall wasn't terrible, but my guests were turned off and I was extremely embarassed by the steel wool in the food and the nonchalant manner the staff handled it. I have been going to this place since I was young. I may have to stop going.
Good Food, Good Value. Seven Treasures has good food for a good value. Orders run big in size (A single order can usually feed 2-3 people). The location is nice with many places to explore prior to or after you eat. Their only downfall is the service tends to be slow; however, most of their servers are very friendly and don't seem to mind taking the time to explain a dish.
Busy Chinatown favorite scores with Asian standards and exotic specialties..
In Short
One of two Seven Treasures in Chinatown (the other is on Archer Avenue), this location is the older of the two and bustles until the wee hours every night. An extensive menu offers more than 350 items, including a large selection of soups with fish, noodles and rice. Chef's specials include sweet-and-sour dishes and Chinese casseroles with eggplant, chicken and salt fish.
Where the REAL food is. This is where all the working people go to eat. (Get the stir-fry lobster!)
