Chicago Joes--Oh, No!!!!. Worst service I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I can't believe the staff is still employeed. I can't believe that the place is still in business. Don't think twice. keep driving to the next place.

Old Chicago Atmosphere. I lived near Joe's for several years before I gave it a try and since have become a regular. True, they have a limited menu and once in awhile you get a dish that isn't great, but on the whole, the food is always on par or better than comparative restaurants. The burgers are great; my family loves the sausage and peppers and I love the wings...can make a meal on them alone. The key lime pie always makes a refreshing end to a meal.

As for service, we've alway had good to excellent service. Once in a while it can be a bit slow, but with the great atmosphere of the place, you can sit, relax, look at all the neat memorabilia or watch a game. The bar area is almost always busy with laughter and good times and depending on the timing of your meal, the dining rooms can be either crowded or quiet. The waitstaff has always been attentive to us, has at times made special dishes and I've never had to wait for the check.

The mixed drinks are different with each bartender, sometimes excellent and sometimes not. This is a place for great beer...nobody can mess that one up!

All in all, great familiar foods, great atmosphere, no attitude or pretentions, and a fantastic outdoor seating area.

over priced garbage!. I went To Chicago Joe's for the first time this weekend and was totally disappointed. The outdoor seating was fun and had a great atmosphere. That is about the best thing I can say. The drinks were watered down. I started off with a rum and pineapple and changed to a margarita, which both tasted like seltzer water. I actually heard a lady across the way complain about her drink to the waitress, saying the exact same thing. I had the special, which were crab-cakes. They tasted like "Cod Cakes" Gross! On top of that they are completely over priced. I live around the corner, and will not go there ever again.

Good Place to Check Out. Although it looks cooler from the outside than it really is, Chicago Joe's is definitely worth stopping in if you live in the area! The ambience is very bar like with booths(which i enjoy!) The food was good, regular stuff. They send good coupons in the mail, but they do have restrictions! Although the service wasn't spectacular, it was in no way horrrible. This place is great for the average person looking for somewhere to have a relaxed meal!

Worst service I have had in Chicago!. We went to this restaurant after passing it several times. We were so excited because it looked like a great local place, and we thought it would be a hidden gem in our neighborhood. I have NEVER had such bad service in Chicago, from the minute we walked in with getting our table (we had a reservation!) to the waitress who acted like we were a pain in her side, to the substandard OVERPRICED food, to the bill payment. We had a coupon and they didnt want to honor it, even though it said NO RESTRICTIONS and NO CATCHES. I would NOT recommend this place and I am upset we decided to entertain guests here.

Stiff drinks, cheeky service and homey food attract a loyal crowd to this casual watering hole.. In Short
The exterior of this longtime bar and grill is painted with boastful claims--"top ribs," "No. 1 steak," etc. Inside, seniors and groups choose between eating on the fun (but smoky) bar side or in the quieter dining room. Broiled fish dishes and juicy ribs lightly dressed in semi-sweet sauce are menu highlights. The 8-ounce filet is tender and topped with mushrooms; burgers and sandwiches are huge, particularly the "ribwich" and corned beef on rye.

Nice outdoors. Great seat outside. Blackend shrimp and salad were better than the fish. A little soggy.... ribs were great, they are the highlight. Didn't sit inside so can't reflect.
