Editorial Review for Pete's Pizza – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Though more popular for delivery and takeout than dine-in service, Pete's has a simple, spacious, cafeteria-like dining room with a tile floor and hunter-green booths. Thin-crust pizza is the specialty here; the crust is firm, crisp and barely brushed with tomato sauce, putting the emphasis on ingredients like giardiniera, spinach, pineapple and anchovies. The restaurant also offers stuffed pies (allow one hour) and an ample selection of pastas, sandwiches and entree plates.

We are parents and enjoy family friendly restaurants. Pete's however has completely lost control of their dining room and we will never return. Apparently, they have a lot of kids sports teams and youth groups that host group dinners at the restaurant and they allow them to RUIN the dining experience for everyone else in the place. Tonight there were kids running around, yelling and playing heavy metal music on the juke box. The combination of that and the acoustics in their tile floored dining room made for easily the most miserable dinner that we have had in a long time. We gave feedback to Tina, the manager, who was nice enough and apologized, but couldn't even go so far as to buy us a drink (a diet coke?) for our troubles. The staff was nice, the food is decent and the free parking is nice, but the dining room was a disaster and we will never return.

I would have given this place no stars, but one star was the lowest rating I could give. I used to order take out and occasionally picked up food there, but never again. I loved the rude lady that used to take your order over the phone. She was rude and saucy, but darn it she never ever got your order wrong. The food was always great and exactly what you wanted. I drove by and stopped in for lunch several months ago, I wish I knew enough to keep driving. I noticed the remodeling, and thought it was a nice change so I stopped for lunch with a friend. They should post a huge sign on the door that says under new management- run away. We assumed it was the same old pete's, great food at a great price. This was bad, disgusting food, at higher prices. I felt sorry for the waiter, he had a look on his face that said "sorry" before he even took our order. We should have run for the door, but we resisted the urge. We both hated our meals, even the soft drink we were served was flat. I ordered the linguini with clams, which I used to order all the time, used to be good. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. It was inedible and after attempting a bite, I was not able to swallow it and tossed it right back out into my napkin. It was basically pasta boiled with clams with no seasoning and no type of sauce whatsoever. Stay away, the food is gross.
Pros: nothing good about the place, the staff, or the food
Cons: read the pros
