Consistent problems with dropped pizza's and cust. serv..
I'm shocked to find out my experience was not a fluke, but rather an consistent problem according to many yelp reviews.
Upon opening our large pizza (after the driver left) we discovered that the pizza looked as if it had been dropped, flipped, and shook. There were sections where only sauce and dough were showing and the toppings of this half sausage half garbage pizza had slid into each other making the division of halves almost unrecognizable. I snapped a photo (if I can attach it I will). The also claim that we didn't order a pop, when we are certain that we did. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to get our food (1 large pizza).
I called the restaurant fully understanding that accidents happen, but expecting a refund, or free pizza. I was offered $5 off my next order. Clearly not satisfied, I asked to speak to a manager who did not seem the least bit surprised or sorry about the problem. He offered me $15 and said their policy won't allow more unless we had them pick up the pizza (that we ate as disgusting as it was since we were starving for after waiting over an hour). I told him I wanted the full price of the pizza credited to my card and he said in a whiny voice "That's $28 dollars!!" I replied, "yes, I know that is what I paid for this 1 large pizza that was destroyed. If that seems unreasonable maybe you should change your prices." I told him I have photo's and I can share them with him, or if he preferred I would try and post them with my online review. He said I should call back and talk to another manager in two days. I told him to tell her to call me instead.... 6 days later and no call.
I can't believe this is a common problem! It is pretty fundamental to not destroy the pizza while on delivery. I had also visited the restaurant on a previous occasion and while I thought the pizza was pretty good, it is pointless if there is a good chance your order will be destroyed. Further, my experience with their customer service destroys any positive opinion I could have about the place.…
Maybe the pizza is better.
We stopped by for a late lunch (3 pm), there was another table waiting for their pizza. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and my companion ordered the Chicken Vesuvio (broiled Chicken in a white wine
sauce with potato wedges and peas).
Service was very slow considering there was one other table of four in entire restaurant. The Bread was good crusty Italian bread that was served with butter (no oil - we would have asked, but the server was not around expect to drop off drinks and quickly disappeared). We both had the Minestrone, it was OK but it tasted like it came from a can. When the main course finally arrived my Eggplant was soggy. There was way too much cheese (maybe trying to cover up that it was sitting around for a while or maybe it was the cause of the soggy texture.) My partner's Chicken Vesuvio was overly salty and the potatoes were on the dry side (even in the wine sauce).
As we finished our meals a loud screeching sound was heard through-out the restaurant. After it persisted for several minutes we inquired of the source. Our waitress told us that the Cappuccino machine has not been working for two years and some one decided today was the day to address that. To our server's credit the noise did stop immediately after that. I might try the pizza but would not go back for dine-in food again.…
Chicago Style Pizza At It's Best. I love the pizza here. They also have great pastas and salads!
I must say, I am pleasantly surprised..
I am not a big fan of stuffed pizza. In fact, I do anything I can to get out of eating it when I'm out with friends...but last night my sister was in town and wanted to try some stuffed pizza. I
thought...hmmm this place is close to my house and I hear good things about it...its got to be at least decent. It was beyond decent. It was so good that this morning for breakfast I heated up a slice. (Don't judge me...you know you do it too!)
All in all, the pizza was fantastic definitely my new favorite place for pizza...next time I will try their thin crust!…
This Is What Chicago Pizza Is All About. On more than one occasion, I have found myself compelled to order takeout from this place, and I live an hour away from their nearest location. Yes, I have in fact, crossed the state line to get this pizza. Definitely not something I would want to eat every day - or even every month. No, I prefer my arteries unclogged, but man, whenever I'm in the mood for Chicago-style pizza, there really is no other choice.…
