“After a long day at client In Lombard, all I wanted was a quiet good meal.”
Do Not waste your $$$, used to be great. I used to frequent Braxton on a regular basis. It used to ge great. Unfortunately 4 of us had a very poor experience. Fish was over done, portions small and I had to send back the entre'. The Chef must have microwaved the entire plate to blacken my fish and tried to serve it again as 'new'. It was inedible. I emailed the GM who thanked me for my feedback and assured he spoke to the Chef......if he needed to speak to the chef, d onot waste your $$$. There are plenty of fabulous places for quality seafood and Chef's who know how to prepare fish.
What a disapoint chioce that I made. We were there last year and could not wait to go back there for this Thanksgiving. We were very disappoint and would not go back there anymore. The selections were very limited and the Oyster was not fresh and I swallowed spoiled one and didn't have chance to spit out had come home to take my benedyl. I don't believe they import their fresh seafood daily. No Fruits, only some small strawberries in the desert area. One thing that I am certain, we will never go back to this place and so does other customers maybe think the same thing as we did.
Not your best seafood option.
The sweet biscuits served before our meal were definitely the best part of the meal - very tasty and fresh out of the oven. Then, it was all downhill from there.
My halibut nicois was not really up to snuff and my mother's ahi tuna was not very fresh at all despite claims to have fresh seafood imported daily. The halibut nicois had too much sauce for my taste and it overpowered the flavor of the fish and vegetables. Our server was nice, though he seemed to hover a bit, asking use several times if our food was okay. We didn't have the heart to tell him that we weren't satisfied at all because he seemed to eager to please.
Next time I'll just fill up on biscuits.
Great food, Lousy customer service..
I have been a regular at Braxton for a few years, and I'm definitely addicted to their soda biscuits and excellent Salmon dishes. After a long day at client In Lombard, all I wanted was a quiet good meal. I went to Braxton around 6:00 and asked for a table for one. The hostess asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar, and I answered no, I really wanted a quiet table. So she sat me at one of the noisy bar tables even though they have a large and beautiful dining room. When I explained I wanted one of the dining room seats I was told by the hostess there were none available, yet I saw couple after couple enter the dining room from the seat they gave me which overlooked the hostess station right next to the drafty door. About a month ago, I had the same experience so this is is not an accident, but consistently poor service.
I left there with a large headache and very irritated at the staff at not addressing the issue of finding a quiet dining experience for me. I like the food here but the service is severely lacking, particularly for the price. I don't know what has changed here , but I can no longer recommend this restaurant due to the lack of customer service.
Editorial Review. Fresh mesquite-grilled fish, Maryland crabcakes and George's Bank scallops on the fringe of Oak Brook Center.
