YVETTE IS A COLOR SUPERSTAR. Gorgeous. Yvette is a Master Colorist with 13 years of experience; is super nice; understands choosing the right color for your skin tone; and is friendly and down-to-earth. My sis and I decideded to darken my platinum blonde hair to a darker strawberry blonde and got some freaky two-toned brassy/ashy results. I called A&S and was lucky to get in the same day (Yvette had a cancellation). She suggested staying in the red family since I have porcelain skin; and since I have already had bright red hair in the past; we decided to try a deep auburn; which she thought would flatter my fair skin and blue eyes. She was right. It looks amazing. Other customers were stopping me and complimenting me. The best part? It was only 80 bucks. I was blown away by the service, talent, and the price. The place is super cool too; very edgy vibe; and I felt comfortable even though I'm not a typical Wicker Park hipster :)

Great Haircuts for a fair price. Art and Science is such great salon. No matter who cuts my hair, I always know it will look great. It can be a little pricey, but that depends on who cuts your hair. They specialize in artsy haircuts, so if you need something basic, go someplace cheaper!

The classiest color I've ever had always a fantasic do. I am not usually one to sit and type on one of the sites but I have experienced what I would have to say is the classiest color I've ever had. My colorist, Susan Hurley from Art + Science salon Wicker Park, used a new technique on my fine dirty dishwater colored hair called "Singles". She said that it is far more progressive than the typical "highlights" of today. She layered these colors throughout my head in a manor only she could explain and when it was finished I had the best and most natural enhanced color I have ever had. My hair is not what I would call the best to work with in fact I have never been a fan. I have had a multitude of color variations and until recently I was just bored. I now am actually stopped on the street to ask who colors my hair! I can see why she is the Color Director for the Art + Science Salons, she is keeping them informed on what is fresh and new.

She has returned this year from her color and education journey and is back with a surge of impactful ideas and techniques. I missed my tag team for it goes with out saying that my hair cuts have always been with Paul Wilson, the man who makes women look their absolute best...not kidding! Not to mention all the guys I've sent to this "Mr. American Crew" they finally look handsome and not someone out of a Penny's catalogue. (I've heard Paul was appointed Artistic Director for that company this year). Plan your appointments ahead of time for he's booked solid. It is also important to book the tag team accordingly. Secret is to book your next while your there! trust me on that one. Kudos Susan and Paul!!!

Best Hairdressers in Chicago. I see the best hairdresser in chicago! They are WONDERFUL! Not only are they friendly, but SO TALENTED! He did my hair exactly the way it wanted. I thank my lucky stars that I found this place!

HAIRCUT WITH TARA. I went to the salon in wicker park,my hair was way too long and curly.She cut it in layers.To tell the truth I was a little shocked at the beginning,it was very short compared to the way it used to be,but after some days I got used to it and I really love it now,it looks great,the layers give me a great volume and is so healthy now.Tara is a very nice person and I even receive a letter in my mail today where she ask me how I feel with the haircut and she gave me some disscount cards for my friends,I love when people take care of you like that,thanks Tara!!!You should definitely get a haircut with her.

User review by amrivers. I started going to Art & Science a few years when my stylist Charlie started working there. I've never had a bad experience and everyone I know goes there to get their haircut and they always leave with a great haircut.Not only can Charlie work wonders on my own hair and my boyfriend, roomate and other friends but he recently cut my friend's 5 yr old daughters hair and she's still talking about how much she loves it!

great staff. Anytime I have went to Art&Science it has been great. The staff is freindly and Charlie can give a great cut while brightening your day. I have refered many people to the salon and have always heard them come back with the same expereince that I have had.

great salon. i love the cuts and color at this place and the atmoshere is cool . no "snotty, i'm cooler than you " like you get at most upscale salons. i used to live in london and this is the closest thing in chicago to that kind of cool vibe. i've had cuts with charlie, melissa and lukas, i was happy each time. definately worth checking out, but make an appointment they always seem busy

May I recommend Nicole C?. I've never been much for snotty stylists and overpriced haircuts, and had to admit I had trepidations when first entering Art + Science. However, my expectations were completely unwarranted. The staff was more than friendly, extremely knowledgable and completely void of pretense. I'd highly recommend asking for Nicole C as your stylist because she has a keen eye for detail and is a genuinely charming person to be around.
