Good margaritas, but lackluster overall.. If you are more interested in getting wasted on margaritas, than just having a drink and some good mexican food, then come here! I have to admit the "killer" margaritas ARE quite good, but you can get equally good ones elsewhere in the area. I have been here several times, at different times of the week. I prefer during the week, since it's more of a dinner scene + drinks, than bar-goers out clubbing. Also during the week, they give you complimentary soup at the start of your meal, and tequila shots at the end (they seem to not do this on fri or sat nights). Also the upstairs club AND the patio are cash only, which is kind of annoying and only seems to complicate things for everyone. The food itself is lackluster at best. The only thing I have really enjoyed there food-wise is the spinach mini-wraps. Those were good. Otherwise, try Mayan Palace on Halsted, just south of Diversey. It's smaller, but they have a nice covered back patio, great margaritas, and great food, too!

RUDE and IGNORANT. Well i know this place isnt known for its customer service, which is comparable to its food. I give places at least a few tries to make up for itself. I was treated poorly at both locations and the staff doesnt seem to care at all. Also the table service is slow, dont expect any extras. The best part is the "Owner" of the broadway location was incredibly rude to us and refused to seat us. This place also has numerous rules about where to sit, cash only, and it all makes for a very uncomfortable experince

Best Friggin' Margaritas in the city!. My girlfriend and I visit Cesar's alteast 2 times per month, and we love it more every time. They have fantasic food, and "killer" margaritas, bartenders that don't stiff you on the good stuff... and to top it all off, you leave with a free round of tequilla shots for your entire group. Needless to say we'll continue to go back there on a regular basis, and I'm sure the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere will only get even better!

Horrible Customer Treatment. Word is getting around that Cesar's is not a customer friendly environment. After experiencing my own situation, I now understand why. My three person group when into a half empty Cesar's at 10:45 pm for at least drinks. We sat at a table next to the bar and were then kicked out when told that we must order food to sit at the table, which we weren't sure if we would end up doing. There was no seats available at the bar and after being redirected to another bar at the restaurant we found out that it was being closed for the evening, probably due to lack of customers. I explained to the hostess and manager that our drink tab would end up being in the $50 range by the time we left so how about letting us sit at one of the many open tables. They could have cared less about what I was saying and could not use common sense/good judgment. Their responses said "we don't care, leave if you don't like it." So we left went to a more happening place called Tarascas down the street where they were more than happy to let us sit at any available table to drink. We ended up eating anyway and our bill was a bit less than $60. One of the people in my group had mentioned they've had or had been told of similar experiences at Cesar's. In a town with hundreds of bars and restaurants you simply must serve your guests, not treat them like you don't care whether they are there or not. I'm guessing the lack of people at Cesar's on a Saturday night means these experiences are not rumors.

Margaritas really are "KILLER!". This place has good food & incredible margaritas: just what you want from a neighborhood hangout. They really promote their "Killer Margaritas" and they are indeed delicious and very strong! Their upstairs lounge serves food and is lots of fun, especially for groups. They even have a DJ on Thursday night. But be forwarned they only accept cash up there. Kinda strange.

not so good. This place is not so good. Though the outdoor seating is great, the food is mediocre, the service is spotty and the staff can be downright rude. My suggestion: skip this place!
