I have been shopping at Alcala's for several years. I have spent over $4,000.00 in that store. I visited Alcala's on 1feb. 13 at 3:00pm with the intentions on purchasing a pair of boots. I was met by a lady who stated to me that someone would be over to help me. I observed the male whom the lady said would be helping me. This male who stood about 6'2 with black hair totally ignored me and wouldn't help me. I couldn't believe that this was actually occurring. I will never spend another dime in that establishment.

Ride em, Cowboy!!. If you need Western wear, you will NOT find a better selection that at Alcala's. My colleague and I needed western costumes for an event, and Frank Alcala worked with me at length to help me get exactly what I needed. He was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend his store!!

Founded by Luis A. Alcala in 1972, family-owned Alcala's Western Wear has attracted both celebrities and regular folk with its bona fide cowboy apparel. In full view from blocks away, a nearly life-size neon bucking palomino marks the store's entrance.

The Goods
More than 5,000 hats and 12,000 pairs of boots are stacked high to the ceiling. One of the largest retailers of authentic Western wear in the Midwest, Alcala's also carries a wide selection of exotic skins like ostrich, alligator, lizard and eel. Jeans include Levi's, Wrangler, Resistol and Ralph Lauren. Boots start at $75 and go as high as $4,000. Popular lines include Tony Lama and Lucchese for men, women and children. Cowboy hats by Stetson and Resistol are top sellers, but Alcala's also sells wool hats, colorful 10-gallon hats and even a showcased chinchilla fur hat. Accessories includes buckles, belts, bolos, chaps, and even perfume.

Great Varied Selection. Alcalas has a vast selection of boots and hats. They even stock larger sizes for men (14, 15, 16+). Their selection of belts and buckles is adequate. Their clothes tend to be a little bit dated for the current dancing crowd, but to each their own. If you're looking for boots in the Chicagoland area, stop into Alcalas.
