What People Are Saying About Breakfast Club

In Short – Nestled among warehouses and kept homes, this cafe's bubble-gum pink awning is a striking wake-up call. Breakfast dishes like bacon and eggs, blueberry pancakes, and biscuits and gravy attract a pre-work and lunchtime crowd. Cinnamon French toast, cinnamon rolls and fresh-squeezed OJ start days off right. Rotating lunch specials might include herb-crusted pork roast or meat loaf topped with ketchup and served with real mashed potatoes, gravy and boiled green beans.

Cute and Boring

by lorenep at Citysearch

They have baked omelets and these aren't what people really want to eat. If we'd known, we wouldn't have ordered them. The waiter recommended them. Why don't restaurants just make an omelet without puffing it up and baking the top to brown. It ruins the taste of the egg. The potatoes are undercooked American fries, the white sliced variety, very pale, no taste or seasoning noted. At least brown them up and put some sliced onions on them and even rosemary would help. Pancakes are fluffy and airy. No taste to speak of other than the butter and syrup. The place is cute and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but its a nice neighborhood joint. We traveled 25 miles for it, but won't be back.

Try the Sweet Maple Cafe on Taylor street in Chicago if you want a great breakfast dining experience.

  • Pros: Nice cozy atmosphere
  • Cons: The food isn't yummy, just boring and normal

Just "OK"

by AggBatt at Citysearch

This place is just "OK". It's nothing special, as we are led to believe by all the other reviewers. The food was certainly edible, and the service was fine, but there is nothing extraordinary about this restaurant at all.

Breakfast done right

by chicago14 at Citysearch

We live in River West and found this place. A hidden gem. Off the beaten path but well worth seeking out! Ok, the pink is overwhelming and old but the staff is great, pleasant and most important - the food is off the chart for great inexpensive breatkfast food. Large portion, large omelettes and a very extensive menu. Drinks, bloody marys and the finest of Mimosa for breakfast hits the spot! This is a great place to enjoy breakfast with your significant other, friends or just alone with a paper to relax! Love this place.

  • Pros: Everything
  • Cons: Its pink
