Management has changed here over the years, and the latest iteration is top-notch. Food is good, and the desserts are a step above other diner sweets (especially the coconut cream pie).
BAD Service!‎.
I've been going here for years, it's close to me, always open, but this last trip was my last.
Waitress, an older lady, takes my order, I ask if my table could be "bussed" (i.e. wiped from last person there) "I have a busboy around here somewhere......" Table was never wiped.
Lady pick up a rag and do it! This is the same waitress who will bring you your water with her hand around THE RIM of the glass!
Soup was fine, club sandwich was fine, but I have to get up to get more water and to ask for dressing. Lazy biach never came by once EXCEPT to lay down the bill before I was even finished.
Almost 9 bucks for that?
I am never going back!
worst place to eat. All I can say is DO NOt give them your business.Ester is a BOLD FACE LAIR,so if you ask what is good she might give you monkey poop. Also they have problems with the 40 + .In saying this maybe that is one of the reasons the wait staff walk around like they are bored.
Sick?. All three members of our party are very sick after eating here for breakfast on July 4th. Has anyone else had the same experience?
i enjoy the food specialy the ham!!. my boyfriend and i have dined there more than 3 times ...the service wAS OK the food is regular we usually eat breakfast and sometimes fight for parking. and when its really busy your left to wait for more than 15 or 20minutes but it depends how you are but personaly we just think its ok ...when ever we go we enjoy the TOAST and ham ...my boyfriend usually gets their steak...its just average i guess the only way to enjoy going there is to take someone ..i dont recomened huge groups...
Great Place To Start or End The Night. My friends and I have been coming here for years. The location just off the expressway makes it a convenient jumping point to any place we want to hit that night. If you want great French Toast, then this is the place. The breakfast ham and skillets are excellent. Try the Tex-Mex Skillet. The place can get hectic at times.
Worst Restaurant in Chicago!. After this past new years eve festivites, we went to a very packed Hollywood Grill to get some b-fast at 2 in the morning. After the meal we left our cash on the table, including a generous tip for the waitress and headed out the door. No sooner than we crossed the street did the manager, waitress AND security come running across screaming that we didn't pay the bill and demanding $20. The manager would not stop using the f-word (and this is in front of dozens of customers) and it ended up being my worst dining experience I've ever had in Chicago. PLEASE boycott this poor excuse for a restaurant. It is not how customers should be treated.
A very greasy spoon--not worth it.
We ate here on the 4th of July because I didnt have a lot of time. The service was downright awful. Our waitress messed up our order multiple times (wrong toast, forgot potatoes, eggs cooked runny and the list goes on) and gave us attitude.
The food was well below average and very greasy. I think the coffee was decent and it was cheap, but still not worth it. I would never go back and I live 5 min away.
All-night diner attracts a mixed Wicker Park crowd with breakfast food and quirky atmosphere..
In Short
In stark contrast to its ash- and cement-gray surroundings, this 24-hour diner is decorated in vibrant, cotton-candy pink and neon blue. Images of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe hang on the walls, and a mural of the Hollywood sign is splashed across the back wall. Cops, hippie kids and neighborhood beatniks dive into breakfast fare like omelettes, eggs, buttermilk pancakes and link sausage, burritos, enchiladas and more.
