Editorial Review for Angelina Ristorante – by Valerie Moloney

In Short
It couldn't get any more romantic than at this Boys Town trattoria, a space that plays up intimacy with candlelight, faux antique gold walls, dramatic oil paintings and black-and-white photographs. At the rear, locals relax by a tiny bar lit by candles and a chandelier, a nice place to perch while waiting for a table. Wine bottles line a wooden in both dining rooms, where couples huddle over fresh, housemade pasta and rich dishes like osso buco and a boneless pork chop stuffed with prosciutto, fontina cheese and sage over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Lakeview residents receive 20 percent off their bill on Wednesdays.

Where to Sit

The window seats are romantic, provided you're fairly slender (it's a tight squeeze and a tiny table). Otherwise, try to snag the table in the back of the first room, just to the right of the bar.

What to Drink

The wine list features 17 by the glass under $10.

You truly could not get a better deal in all of Chicago for fantastic Italian food and a really cozy atmosphere! Tucked away on the corner of Broadway and Addison, this place is excellent for a nice, romantic dinner or even just a relaxing after work meal with friends. Make a point to try the pumpkin ravioli, which truly is out of this world. And, there is not a better dessert in this whole city than Angelina's tira misu! HUGE and absolutely scrumptious! Big two thumbs up for this place!

Pros: tira misu, all pastas!

Cons: better for small parties, not large groups.
