Delicious Food, Horrible Service. Delicious Food, Horrible Service!

My wife and I went to dinner last Friday night. It took over an hour for our food to get to our table! Over an hour! Our waitress completely neglected our table. I asked for a glass of wine with my meal. Instead, our waitress asked if I needed wine more than halfway into our meal.

I tried finding our waitress, but she was nowhere to be seen. This was my first time visiting the restaurant and my experience was completely ruined.

The food was great, but the service was terrible. Our waitress was obviously going for the bigger tips and catering to the large parties. Did not feel like a valued guest. Sub-par service.

Overpriced drinks, marginal food, unattentive service. I've now been three times and won't be back.

Tonight I got a tiny - probably 2.5oz Martini for $11, followed by a 4 oz glass of wine for $8.

(Other restaurants nearby serve 4-5 oz martini's and 6 oz glasses of wine)

Twice I had to go to the bar where the two waiters and the bartender were chatting in order to get their attention.

ALso tried to flag down the waiter from the other section, but he obviously couldn't be bothered by the other waiter's tables.

The food was OK, but not spectacular. Wilted romaine, and overcooked shrimp and chicken. At $140 for two people I expect at least the food and/or the service to be at least "really good".

There are much better places in the neighborhood such as FireFly and Yoshi's that offer good value, generous drinks and attentive service, usually for less money than this place.

Awesome Neighborhood Restaurant!. You truly could not get a better deal in all of Chicago for fantastic Italian food and a really cozy atmosphere! Tucked away on the corner of Broadway and Addison, this place is excellent for a nice, romantic dinner or even just a relaxing after work meal with friends. Make a point to try the pumpkin ravioli, which truly is out of this world. And, there is not a better dessert in this whole city than Angelina's tira misu! HUGE and absolutely scrumptious! Big two thumbs up for this place!

Horrible service with Missing Ingredients!. I have been here before and enjoyed it well enough to return with friends. First, we ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress couldn't open it and asked us to help. The apps were good, althought the grilled calimari this time had no kick to it and was a rather bland tomato sauce. While our wind glasses were empty, we noticed our waitress SITTING down at a table with her friends! Perhaps she forgot she was here to work? We poured our own as she was clearly busy. Next, the entrees came and the order of Oxtail Risotto literally contained a tiny scrap of oxtail. I pointed this out to the waitress, and we all had the feeling she had no idea what oxtail was. Needless to say the dish was sent back. All in all, a complete miss and franky quite embarassing that we brought friends here.

Gourmet food without pretentious attitude. The menu here is so well thought-out & well-rounded. It takes the Italian foods that have become ridiculously en vogue, like polenta, and presents them in a way that feels like mom's home cooking - instead of high fashion on a plate. The summer menu has a squid's ink-tinted linguini with sweet potatoes & goat cheese that (despite sounding a tad off-the-wall) is delicious and light. The red sauces are not overwhelming and the meats are always juicy. A great place for a date or to take out-of-town relatives.

THE BEST!!. No questions asked, this is our FAVORITE Italian place. The Rigatoni Bolognese is exceptional with tender pieces of lamb (not ground - but real lamb pieces). The Italian Meatloaf, any chicken dish or fish have been fantastic. We've NEVER had a bad meal here. The service is top-notch, very attentive (but not overly) - they aim to please every time we visit. Our hat's off to all of the wait staff, but Benjamin is our favorite. If you are a local, I highly recommend the local night discount on Wednesday's - they know us now! Unbelievable food for a real value price.

A true gem. This place is phenomenal! I took a group of 20 Italians here and first I must say, the service was outstanding. We were waited on with as much attention as if we were a table of 4. No one had to wait for anything, which was incredible. Everyone was so pleased with the quality of the food and the portions (most had to-go boxes!). The prices are so reasonable and it was just all arounds a great experience.

An Italian staple sets a cozy scene for sweethearts in Boys Town.. It couldn't get any more romantic than this Boys Town trattoria, a space that plays up intimacy with candlelight, faux antique gold walls, dramatic oil paintings and black-and-white photographs. At the rear, locals relax by a tiny bar lit by candles and a chandelier, a nice place to perch while waiting for a table. Wine bottles line both dining rooms, where couples huddle over fresh, housemade pasta and rich dishes like osso buco and a boneless pork chop stuffed with prosciutto, fontina cheese and sage over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

I don't know what happened. I had previously written a review raving, and I appologize, because I went back their with my husband and my parents for my husbands graduation, and all I can say is that the food was mediocre, and the wine was not very good at all. I asked for a wine reccomendation, and the server was clueless. I don't know if the management changed, but this was not the angelina's I had grown to love.
