The Scene – Games and collectibles are stacked to the rafters just waiting for the perfect owner to unearth them. This certifiable trip down memory lane floods customers with so many recollections they nearly skip out of the store. Humorous sales staff can help find a long-lost lunch box or great gag gift. – – The Goods – From way-back-when to has-been, the varied toy collection spans more decades than a lite radio station. Trekkies dive for collector series figurines, while "Star Wars" nuts scour the galaxy for old-school R2-D2s and C-3POs. Let Twister "tie you up in…

Editor's Tips

Look Good:
The store always buys toys. Come spring-cleaning season, remember to bring in your once-beloved collectibles. You'll make a buck and feel good that Huckleberry Hound will find a new home.

Reclaim Your Childhood Toys

Every time I remember a toy I used to have as a kid (was it sold at a yard sale? donated to Goodwill?) I can pretty much count on finding it at Quake, and at great impulse-buy prices. They're friendly to all customers, not just hard-core collectors, (no "Comic Book Guy" rudeness!) and despite the overwhelming Star Wars collection, there is plenty more to find. I've bought many Fisher Price Little People from them, several She-Ra dolls, Ghostbusters action figures, and more.

  • Pros: selection, inexpensive, atmosphere
  • Cons: hours
