From the heart
by Saintoleg at Citysearch
To all that know me and to those who don't. My name is Linda Cunningham. I'm the Founder/Artistic Director of State Street Dance. I rarely look up the Studio on line, however today I did.
I want to clarify that the first review was indeed from my loving husband. Who without his support I would have never opened the doors at the Studio.
Without being morbid my heart feels that before my head hits the pillow for the last time in life, I want to know that I paid it forward. I truly feel that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. State Street Dance Studio is most definitely a technically driven school with an amazing faculty and I personally challenge anyone who feels differently to personally have the heart to contact me directly to have a meeting in person. It is easy to be hurtful on line, much harder to confront the Founder/Artistic Director in person. Thank you world for hearing my voice. Linda Cunningham \

an average dance studio with a fancy name
by cdiaz089 at Citysearch
definately not a "pre-professional" studio by any means. while instruction is personalized, some teachers are not throughly qualified. communication between administration and clientle is lacking.
- Pros: facility, location, strong ballet training program, strong advanced modern classes, small class size
- Cons: too expensive, varied instruction quality, weak jazz , hip-hop, beginner/intermediate modern classes, and tap classes, expensive performance costumes
a real review

just to let everyone know, the above review is by the owner's husband. but anyways, state street is a good studio depending on which classes you take. ballet classes with altin naska, catalina garza, and kim craigie are definately worth your money but the other ballet teachers there are not, if you are thinking about training seriously. also, laura kariotis is a great modern teacher. st. street boasts being a pre-professional studio. while this might be the case in 5 years or so, currently the studio is still in its building stages. however, the facility has 3 beautiful and new dance studios, one of which is very spacious (almost the size of a stage!)
- Pros: great facility, great modern instruction under laura kariotis, good ballet instruction under catalina garza, altin naska and kim craigie, small class sizes, great master classes
- Cons: expensive, some not so great teachers, bad communication between staff
