great service but limited menu. we go to truth on a fairly regular basis because it's very close to home. the service is superb. however, i think it's tacky they don't give you a salad with your entree, also too many fish dishes on the menu. for food i'd recommend the pork chops.

High Hopes but Sadly Disappointed!. We were a group of 9 out for a birthday on a Friday - reservations at 6:00 to avoid the rush that happens later in restaurants. We're not hard to please and prefer casual to "north side ambiance" any day. We don't mind spending money and our bar bill is usually equal to or greater than our food bill. We enjoy good service, decent drinks and good food - and we left Truth saying that Olive Garden would have been far better.

We ordered 5 appetizers (2 Wellington Pastries, 2 Crabcakes, 1 Calamari), a few drinks each (Martini's, Captain's, Hacker Pschor), ala carte Soups and Salads and an entree per person.

Pros: Service was great - she was overwhelmed at times (they were understaffed) - but great personality and effort. Lamb chops were good. Soup was good. Beer was from fresh clean lines.

Cons: Out of nine of us, seven didn't care for our food and two were indifferent. Two of us sent ours back and didn't eat, and the swordfish eater was so scared by his food he didn't even bother sending it back. Opaque liquid oozed out of it when cut (probably frozen when they began cooking it). Chicken Picatta was like NOTHING we had ever seen before. Ravioli's were smothered in white sauce and really bland. Stuffed chicken was DRY AS A BONE. Grouper was not much more than a giant fillet o' fish on a plate. Steaks were decent, but not at all "prime cuts". Wellington pastries were like doughballs with specks of meat - no bleu cheese or walnuts to be found. Calamari was rubbery and the crabcakes were mediocre at best (remoulade sauce good, but salty). Drinks came piecemeal because bartender had a hard time keeping up.

Before visiting we researched: Website was nice, menu looked great. We had a $425 bill (before they took off $50 for the problems) and with tip it came to $60 a head. For a nice night out $60 person isn't bad - but we left wishing we'd have gone to Olive Garden or Lone Star where we could have at least had a nice pasta or burger!
