Edison Park's place for great Mexican. Don Juan's is full of great suprises for Edison Park. Its menu includes familiar Mexican fare as well as some creative plates too. The tamales are fantastic, moist, and flavorful. The mole is traditional and rich. Even the beverage menu is full of tequila varietals as well as mezcal, always a pleasant suprise for the adventurous foodie! As Edison Park climbs the hip Chicago neighborhood ladder, so will Don Juan's!

Classic Mexican fare with contemporary accents stands out at this far northwest side favorite.. In Short
Traditional Mexican food gets a contemporary tweak in this comfy, low-key dining room of wood and stucco, warm lighting, Mexican artwork and artifacts. Along with favorites like tacos, burritos and fajitas, the menu has many creative plates, from starters like pan-fried oysters with chipotle glassage and chipotle barbecued duck taquitos to main plates of tilapia with shrimp guajillo sauce and rack of lamb with chili-ancho bordelaise.

15 yrs later:A great mexican restaurant!. Don Juan's menu has been an evolutionary process of refinement. When I was younger, the dishes were standard mexican fare. However, don't misinterpret this to mean ordinary quality! Their homemade salsa, carne asada, or enchiladas mole compares to anyone. As a customer, its has been rewarding to taste the emergent creativity and class this innovative chef brings to his numerous tasty specials ranging from fresh fish, exotic fowls, and various meat dishes with precise blends of sauces seasoning and vegetables. A very impressive restaurant. Good value for both standard mexican and daily specials. It will be difficult to keep this place a secret anymore.
