Love this Sushi Joint. i live in the city but take a drive to St. Charles probably once every 2 months for business and i always make it a point to stop @ Sushi Yama. This place has great Sushi and is a good place for lunch. Very clean and cute. I recommend to everyone that lives in the area or surrounding to come here and enjoy Sushi Yama for lunch or dinner. The staff is really friendly too

Great Sushi in Suburbs!. I just moved to the area from the city and was driving aound one afternoon to check out the restaurants and businesses in the area and stumbled upon Sushi Yama. Walked in for lunch and checked out the menu and decided to order.

The waitress was very kind and patient with me while i decided on what to order. She offered me some good tasting tea and asked if there was anything else i needed while i waited for my order.

I ended up ordering the teriyaki chicken lunch combo and was NOT disappointed. THe sauce on the meat was very tasty and the california rolls as well.

I'm glad i found this place and will be back. I highly recommend.

worst sushi place ever. had dinner there last night and it was HORRIBLE. the cucumbers in one of the rolls had moles!! I would've posted the pics if possible. OMG never go back, DON'T go there. its disgusting. the tables were filthy, just a dirty dirty place in general. food tasted bland, rolls falls apart when we tried to pick them up, sashimis are not even decent quality. when brought to manager looking guy, he didn't even care.

Great food,Great service. I have to dissagree with the othe review , we have been going to sushi yama for the past few years, and Never have we been ignored, and Never have we seen othe people being ignored. If anything you will have several servers stop by your table to make sure all is well, including the owners. The food is excelent, and always fresh, service is wonderful. It sounds like the other review has an ax to grind. If you really like sushi, give this establishment a try, I think you will keep returning as we have.

Alright food awful service. I have been to this establishment a few times, they have alright food. I have eaten sushi and Japanese food from all parts of the country (including places like Nome, Alaska) and Sushi Yama rates at the bottom. For the Chicago area I believe that there are much better Japanese restaurants in the area.

Being there not to long ago with my wife and three year old we were completely ignored for almost all of our dinner. It was a Saturday night and when we arrived it took over 15 minutes for a waitress to approach us to even say hello. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, the beverages showed up but the appetizer was forgotten about.

To keep things short, the whole night consisted of me flagging down different waitresses over and over because no one would come to our table. Watching other customers walk in after us and get served before us really upset me, especially when I had a three year old to feed. Overall the food was ok, but the fact that we had no waitress for almost the entire dinner was a huge disappointment. I would strongly recommend driving a few extra miles to receive much better service.
