Highly recommened. Swedish Bakery made our wedding cake and did a wonderful job. Everything from the planning, delivery, to the cake itself was great. I would highly recommend everyone who is looking for a wedding cake to schedule a meeting with Swedish Bakery to see what they can do for you.

Good choice, but be warned!. Thanks to a beautiful co-worker who treated our office to many of the excellent items on the Swedish bakery menu, there was only one, I do not recommend, and that is that white-chocolate ganache (yuck!) One of the nastiest cakes I've ever tasted.

take a number and return in an hour. Way understaffed!!!!

I have waited for 20 minutes before getting my number called and its just isn't worth it.

You have to go at a time when its not so busy-but forget the weekend. The cookies are SO ridiculously overpriced for a bakery its size, and so are the cakes-pretty much everything is high. For what you pay for the service s*cks.

Also-had a cake ordered for my graduation and there was so much buttercream between the cake layers that we couldn't taste the cake; BAD CAKES!

Best Cinnamon Raisin Bread. The cinnamon raisin bread at 'Swedish Bakery' in Chicago's Andersonville neighbourhood, stands alone as the best in the city. If you want to be really decadent, use the bread to make french toast (or is it 'freedom' toast:).

And if you are celebrating a birthday, order their glazed strawberry cake with the birthday message written on a strip of green marzipan.

Be prepared for a lengthy wait, as the line can be fairly long.

Missed the mark.. I was amazed after visiting the Swedish Bakery as to the low quality of the pastries we purchased. After hearing about how good everything was, I left feeling cheated.

Best Bakery on the North Side. Swedish Bakery is the best bakery on the North Side, hands down. The cakes, the fruit tarts, the petits fours, etc., are all freshly made with the finest ingredients, fresh fruit, and real butter. It is easy to see why this place has been a favorite for generations. Stop by and buy some treats for your sweetie, or a killer dessert for when you entertain.

Amazingly great bakery.... Nuff said. Been around forever. Was attracting crowds before the New Andersonville. Expect to wait at peak periods...a testament to their deliciousness.
