“the staff are very nice and you well have your food ones after waiting.”
Charming Scandinavian breakfast and lunch spot has been an Andersonville favorite for 60 years.
The Scene
At this sunny, rustic storefront, traditional Scandinavian meat and potatoes dishes are the mainstay--plus what could be the best Swedish pancakes in the city. The decor of this friendly, old-fashioned place is distinctly Swedish: The dozen tables are covered with blue and white checked tablecloths, knicknacks and copper plates, while Swedish-inspired art and photographs adorn the weathered blue walls.
The Food
Try the Viking Breakfast--a feast of two eggs; crispy Swedish-style fried potatoes; bologna-like Falukorv sausage; toast and two light, crepe-like Swedish pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and served with refreshingly tart lingonberry preserves. Also on the menu: smorgasar (open-faced sandwiches like sliced hard-boiled eggs and anchovies) and the Three Crown Special of Swedish meatballs, salt pork and Swedish brown beans.
