“Clean, friendly staff, delicious authentic Mexican food for a great price.”
“Wonderful wait staff too all held in line by Carmen, the woman who's managed that place for years.”
“The food is good and inexpensive, although that may change with the neighborhood and the opening of the new Borders.”
“The waiters are horrible, and slow.”
December 1, 2012 This is a very cozy family mexican restaurant. I went there to celebrate with my family and the food was delicious. We had Pescado al mojo de Ajo, very yummy and fresh, their Steak Fajitas were out of this world, oh I almost forgot we also tried their artichoke and spinach dip for appetizer and it was very tasty. The service was also very good, very attentive and did not make any mistakes with our large order, the food was cooked very fast. I strongly recommend this place.
Casual Mexican spot offers up a terrific carne asada, conveniently located for those attending shows at the near-by Aragon or Riviera theaters..
The Scene
Wander into this long-and-narrow spot, grabbing whichever table feels comfortable. The atmosphere is super-casual, though service is friendly and customers don't feel rushed. Several TVs tend to be showing music videos from Mexico. Be sure to check the menu for any drink specials--usually offered Mondays through Thursdays.
The Food
Don't miss the carne asada--a massive (at least 18 inches long) skirt steak that has been marinated and grilled. The result is super-tender, if ordered medium rare. For even bigger appetites, get the bistec tampiquena, which includes that same skirt steak, plus a cheese enchilada. Rounding out the menu are the usual tacos, burritos, tortas and combination plates, along with some seafood selections.
An old favorite.... A small place with kitschy Mexican decor that somehow works. The food is good and inexpensive, although that may change with the neighborhood and the opening of the new Borders. I've spent many evenings there with friends playing Mexican music from the juke box and getting silly and more than a little tipsy by the great margaritas. Wonderful wait staff too all held in line by Carmen, the woman who's managed that place for years. Hey Carmen!
blah. I have been here a few times, and the food has declined dramatically. You can smell the grease from outside. The quesidilla I had was drenched in grease. The waiters are horrible, and slow. This place is cheap. I would rather go to Taco Bell, and I can't stand that place either
muy antentico!.

We had enough to drink next door at the Green Mill!
