Big Chicks for everyone!. I have been here several times with my boyfriend. Met a lot of people and enjoy going there. The bartenders are great and the music is good too.

Neighborhood Joint. Big Chicks is by far the easiest, most casual, unpretentious gay bar in our city. It is filled with lots of gay urban men and women who are out to enjoy the good company of friends, great value on drinks, eclectic dance music, and on Sundays the BEST free bbq in the city...literally. There's a pool table for fun and euchre nights throughout the week. Join their email list and enter to win everything from gift certificates to Vertel's to theatre tickets to shows around town. For the price and atmosphere this place is unparalleled.

Free Sunday Barbeque!. The is one of the bars in the city, period! Wonderful mix of people, great drinks, lots of fun. This is the gay bar that I would take anyone to, gay or straight. Be careful of the neighborhood--the bar is friendly, but sometimes Uptown is not.

gay but no attitude. It's nice to go to a gay bar on a Sunday afternoon and see guys that havn't primped, at least not that much, from the softball diamond or the beach. Great bartenders, soothing lemonades, and the BBQ make for a great stop to wind up your weekend and forget that you have to be back at work on monday.

THE BEST OF THE NORTHSIDE. This place won my vote the first time I ever arrived from out of town before I lived here. This bar/club takes ALL kinds. No one is given attitude. No matter whether you are straight/gay/lesbian/bi or whatever this is a place to throw down and have a great time. Free food on Sundays makes it an awesome Tea Dance. Its the first place I go to when Im not in the mood for the Boystown DRAMA. Enjoy.

weird stuff happens here. On Halloween, a group of friends and myself ended up playing "Spin the Bottle" with half of the bar...The Sunday bbqs are also great fun!

Fantasmic. Big Chick's was where I grew up (when I wasn't getting kicked out of Manhole and Carole's) -- where I puked on Dennis Cooper's shoes, where I gave Bruce La Bruce nail polish to fix the run in his stocking --- it's the absolute wacky, laid back best. A treasure of queer culture, and a can't miss for any side of the fence...

free sunday cookouts. It's not your typical gay bar, and that's a good thing. Big Chicks feels much more like a neighborhood place, though there are cute guys here. Much more laid-back, good music, gets very crowded weekends. And Sundays at 3:30pm, Michelle (owner) has a free cook-out (burgers, brats, etc). She's great, and her customers are loyal. Everybody's welcome.
