Editorial Review for Keegan's Pub – by Chris Barsanti
The Scene
An unprepossessing storefront on far South Western Avenue, Keegan's features a large oak bar and a gas fireplace. Loud groups of 20- and 30-somethings gather at tables, while middle-aged guys nurse whiskeys at the bar. Most customers are on a first-name basis, or arrive with a group of friends--this isn't one of those places where patrons settle into a back booth for a quiet beer. The service is friendly, even to those the staff doesn't know; likewise, regulars throw some who's-the-new-guy stares--this is a neighborhood pub, after all.
The Draw
Lots of imports on tap (Harp, Killians) and six Irish whiskeys. The Guinness is given the right amount of time to sit before serving. Classic rock and the occasional Pogues song fill the jukebox, and there's live entertainment, usually Irish folk music, Thursday nights around 9:30pm.

Best Guinness on the south side...and that's saying something. It get's packed on weekends, so beware, but its more fun that way. Dive in and spill some Guinness on someone...
