THE BEST. It's really funny. As I read the reviews that are not 5 stars I am absolutely certain that they have no clue what a great Chicago deep-dish pizza is supposed to be. I have lived in Chicago-land my whole 58 years and I have tried all of them--many more than once! Living in West Rogers Park Chicago I am 1.5 miles away from the Original Lou Malnattis and 1.5 miles away from Gullivers on Howard. In the last 5 years EVERY time we are ready for deep-dish pizza we go to Gullivers. I could write many paragraphs of comparisons but suffice to say that if you are new in town and have discovered Lou's and think-WOW head to Gullivers just for giggles and then say goodbye to Lou's, you won't be back

Sets the benchmark for Chicago pan pizza!!!. Incredible pan pizza. Tomato sauce is thick and well-seasoned - I would believe it if they said an old Italian lady is in the back making her secret recipe.

The crust was thick but springy. Tough to do and seldom done successfully but they carried it off.

I've been going for years and have always liked it. New owners bought the restaurant about a year ago. I've held off on my review waiting to see what they'd do. So far so good. Thankfully they didn't change the pizza recipes. They did solve the lack of parking and expanded/upgraded the bathrooms (my two biggest long standing complaints with the old owner).

I'll be back for more....

Not like it used to be. Been ordering and eating here for decades, something is different, the pizza does not taste the same. Used to LOVE this pizza, now its just Ok. Better pizza at other places. Please go back to your old recipe, or your old cook, or whatever it is that you changed. Sorry I won't spend that kind of money to get food that is not as good as it used to be.

Does not live up to its reputation. My roommate and I had heard great things from friends about the restaurant so we decided to check it out awhile back. The atmoshphere is eclectic and interesting. The food was bland and less than interesting. The prices were high for just OK food. We were both disappointed with the food and the service.

Watch out! Refills are not free. We assumed they were only to be shocked when we recieved the bill. There are much better restaurants in Rogers Park with better prices... and free refills.

I have never been back. I don't to either.

Great place.. In my opinion, the place looks and feels fantastic. In terms of food, pizza is one of the best in town.

HORRIBLY BAD.... IT MADE US BOTH SICK!!!. The last few times we were in the restaurant things seemed different so we asked the waitress and she told us the old owner Jerry had died and his widow sold the place to new owners.

The new owners must have changed the recipe because we have been ordering pizza from gullivers for the past 25 years... I grew up in Rogers Park.... and the pizza was never like this.

We ordered thick crust pizza from Gullivers last night (Saturday, October 11, 2008). When we opened the box their was a runny liguid all over the top....usually they use a thick chopped tomato sauce... this was runny. The sausage slid off the crust...it has never done that in the past.

My wife and I each ate one piece each and knew something was wrong. We called Gullivers and a very rude manager argued with me and said the best he could do was offer us a $10 credit towards our next order. The order total was just under $30... not a very good thing to make an unhappy customer happy.

This morning we both woke up sick as dogs. We have had diareha ALLLLL DAY LONG. We called Gullivers to let them know and the manager got nasty and told me that it wasn't their fault and it could have been anything we ate elsewhere or that we both caught the flu.

THIS IS A WARNING.... GULLIVERS HAS BEEN SOLD AND THE NEW OWNERS HAVE CUT CORNERS, CHANGED RECIPES AND DON'T CARE WHO THEY MAKE SICK.... NOT TO MENTION THE NEW MANGER NEEDS A 2x4 UPSIDE HIS HEAD!!!

Tomorrow morning I call the Chicago Board of Health.

Some of the best True Chicago Style Pizza. A buddy turned me onto Gulliver's in college when I was still thought Giordano's was pizza sent from heaven. (I moved here from NE for school) If Giordano's was heavenly, Gulliver's is God's personal pizza. Spicy Sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, or pepperoni, ricotta and mushrooms are my favorites. Deep dish of course! While delivery is nice it's best to eat there as Gulliver's has the best atmosphere around. It's filled with antiques and the ceiling is covered in chandeliers. I took my father here while he was visiting and he loved it. The only thing missing is an arcade!

Really nice place with good food and outdoor seating. I first heard about this place from a friend of mine who invited me to grab a beer with him here the day after I got back from overseas. After being away for 2 1/2 weeks on vacation I was dying to have something familiar for once. Walking into this place was like walking through a museum. There's literally relics all over the place dating back probably to the time Chicago was established as a city (of course I'm exagerating =) ). Their menu is loaded with both Italian and American everyday favorites from spaghetti to pizzas, Italian beef sandwiches to beefy cheeseburgers cooked the way you want it. Let's not forget the pizzas too. Needless to say I was satisfied. The only gripe I had was the beer. Not that I didn't like it, but it wasn't cold at all and warm beer in the 80 degree summer day wasn't good at all. It's a really interesting place to eat at. Come for the food, stay for the stuff all around the place.
