The Scene
Featuring the Suddenserver automated order system, fun-to-pronounce menu items like the Whoopercheesie, and a folksy slogan ("From the bottom of my pure beef heart, thanks for stopping!"), this drive-in is a campy delight. Say "hi" to humanoid hot dogs Flaurie and Maurie, who blink and wave from the top of the building.
The Food
Don't miss the all-beef Superdawg, served in a blue-and-red box and topped with fluorescent relish, yellow mustard, mild onions, a dill spear and the sublime "pickalilly" (pickled tomato). The toppings only accessorize the frankfurter's dimensions (big), texture (firm but not rubbery) and taste (savory and nearly sweet), which are pretty close to perfect. All sandwiches arrive nestled in a bed of Superfries, crinkle-cut and perfectly salted.

This was Not like the Drive-In Resturants of Yesteryear. Waitresses were Really Friendly back then. The Food was absolutely Horrible. A Superdawg?? It was just a regular Boiled Hot Dog. Relish was Bright Green. It ws Gross! Far from being a Great Chicago Hot Dog Place. There are alot of Great Hot Dog Places in Chicago. This was a Total Dissapointment! Fries were Descent tho. Pros: Never Again ! Cons: Never Again !

This place is simply awesome! The hot dogs are to die for. Not only is the food great! But the atmosphere takes you back to another time. This place is simply a treasure. My kids love the food! the relish is neon green! Can you get any better than this?!? I highly recommend it for people who are from out of town, families, and everyone.

Just came from a trip to Chicago and made a point to stop at SuperDawg. Although the service was nice, the SuperDawg itself wasn't that great. The bun got soggy, but the pickled tomato was pretty cool. We found many other places in and around the city that serve up a much better dawg. It's kind of like Sonic, but really crammed tight to get in and out. It's worth a try, but only just to say you've done it.
