Say "hi" to humanoid hot dogs Flaurie and Maurie, who blink and wave from the top of the building. – – The Food – Don't miss the all-beef Superdawg, served in a blue-and-red box and topped with fluorescent relish, yellow mustard, mild onions, a dill spear and the sublime "pickalilly" (pickled tomato). 1. The atmosphere of this drive-in is special, the service is friendly, and while you might pay more here for a hot dog, remember that fries are included, and the tasty dog is well worth the price, even it came without fries!
  2. On one hand if you are looking for that nostalgic 50s feel for hot dogs, Superdawg may be as good as any in Chicago featuring drive-up service, (better than ordering from the counter), Happy-Days ambiance, neon relish and tangy green tomatoes on your dawg

Not what it used to be

by grayst at Citysearch

I have been visiting Superdawg for 10 years and recently it has been a somewhat over priced bad customer service experience. I have had a hair in my french fries. they acted as if they did not want to work. This is a younger group of ladies that were working so they took a job that they probably didn't want and that is just how they acted. The pop did not taste like pop & it took a while for them to get my order. I guess once the older people left it went down hill. I still left a tip even though after finding a hair in my food I shouldn't have.

THE BEST EVER

by Mark Rocks at Citysearch

My great-grandma lived right around the corner at Milwaukee and Devon, so I grew up eating here. As soon as I got my drivers license, this was one of the first road trips I made! I LOVE THIS PLACE! My grandma grew up eating here, too. This is a historical landmark and the best dogs, burgers, & malts in the WORLD! I was in the hospital not that long ago & my mom actually drove all the way out there to pick me up a dog as a surprise treat. This place not only has its own amazing history, but our own family history. You gotta try this place!!! It will turn into a special family treat for you, too.

WHAT IS THE DEAL?!

by HWilz at Citysearch

Can someone please tell me what the big deal about this place is? If you think this place serves a REAL Chicago Style Hot Dog, you are DEAD WRONG, and have obviously NEVER experienced one. It was just a plain ol' boiled hot dog. WAY OVER PRICED!!

You Have Got to be Kidding!

by dybala at Citysearch

This was Not like the Drive-In Resturants of Yesteryear. Waitresses were Really Friendly back then. The Food was absolutely Horrible. A Superdawg?? It was just a regular Boiled Hot Dog. Relish was Bright Green. It ws Gross! Far from being a Great Chicago Hot Dog Place. There are alot of Great Hot Dog Places in Chicago. This was a Total Dissapointment! Fries were Descent tho.

Pros: Never Again !

Cons: Never Again !

  • Pros: Knowing That We Will Never Return - Totally Over Rated
  • Cons: That I Went There
