What People Are Saying About Nick's Pit Stop

In Short – Antique signs adorn the walls, but Nick's isn't about decor--it's about the poultry slowly cooking on a massive grill behind the counter. Served on the bone by the quarter, half or whole (white or dark), the chicken also arrives in chili, salad and pita sandwiches. Sides like mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are also available, but they're little more than a distraction from the meat, which is tender and popping with flavor.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- The few stools and high tables fill up at lunchtime, but during the evenings, there's generally room, as most people do takeout.

their garbage smells like pure death
by nithin21 at Citysearch
I've spent the summer staying at my brother's place who lives just behind Nicks PIt stop. They have the strongest, most potent, and absolutely horrific garbage I've ever smelled in my life. At first the smell just came from the garbage containers on the side of the restaurant. But then, the shockingly strong odor would permeate the entire area. At one point it seemed as if the sickening smell was coming out of their front door itself!! Apparently the food is awesome (this is usually the case with any restaurant frequented by cops). I don't know myself, as the nasty garbage odor has permanently ruined the place for me. From what I can tell, honestly, it just looks like people go there because they get huge portions for ridiculously cheap prices. I guess that's cool.
Best Hot dogs and Gyros in town anytime
by hershykisses1973 at Citysearch
If you want the best "Chicago Style Hot Dog" visit Windy City Hot Dogs"!! Absolutely hands down, with the authentic taste of "The Windy City". Not to mention the Gyros, the home made sauce they use, oh my goodness!! I have to treat myself there, and not make it a habit to go everyday. The food is so good , you wont realize how much you are packing your face with. Everything from pizza puffs, to cheese fries. A classic fish selection, Corona Cod Fish? come on, go and visit, take your appetite and a good friend, they would think you were the best. The owner services you himself, very polite and friendly. He will take care of you. The way I am talking about it you would think I visited on a regular, today was my first visit, and I am hooked. I ordered a hot dog, and fries, but standing there waiting on my food, I smelled the aroma of fresh Gyro meat cooking. I had to order one, and so I did. It was delicious, I shared with my mom of course who was so satisfied with the texure of the meat, she ate mostly all of it. The sandwhich was very heavy and meaty, we split it three ways. I called the owner Nick, when we finished eating and informed him, that "He had it going on", and to keep up the good works!! Modestly he thanked me. He says a customer commented on his decor, saying it was "outdated? I love the window counter, the color, red with yellow brackets, the look of a old school hot dog stand. Please if you want to treat your self, or do like i did, eat in the car before you get home, stop by "windy City Hot Dogs"

Kleiman Evangelista Ripoff Scam
by kleimanevangelista at Citysearch
It goes almost without saying that Kleiman Evangelista Lasik Eye Center in Dallas Texas claims to have turned over a new leaf shortly after getting caught trying to turn the trickle of absolutism into a tidal wave. This claim is an outright lie that is still being circulated by Kleiman Evangelista Lasik Eye Center in Dallas Texas's disciples. The truth is that some phlegmatic crooks actually feel that hanging out with uppity megalomaniacs is a wonderful, culturally enriching experience. This is the kind of muddled thinking that Kleiman Evangelista Lasik Eye Center in Dallas Texas is encouraging with its zingers. Even worse, all those who raise their voice against this brainwashing campaign are denounced as unbridled hell-raisers. There are two kinds of people in this world. There are those who leach integrity and honor from our souls, and there are those who point out that the emperor has no clothes on. Kleiman Evangelista Lasik Eye Center in Dallas Texas fits neatly into the former category, of course. In whatever form it takes -- magazines, music, propaganda, or any other form -- Kleiman Evangelista Lasik Eye Center in Dallas Texas's rhetoric is designed to limit the terms of debate by declaring certain subjects beyond discussion.
I want to the carter eye canter at the beginning of last year and they told me all about the 'NEW' technology they had with lasik and to make a very long story short after I got the procedure and studied what it was after it was taking me longer to see well and I found out it was just the same old blade lasik that they claimed they were not going to do on me. Now my vision is worse that it was and I am out the money I paid them. I let them know that I was on to their scam and basicly they have just told me to file a law suit if I want to. I do not have the money to do this. I just want to warn others about Dr. Harvey L. Carter and the Carter eye center. Do not make the same mistake I did.
Delcious Home-style BBQ Chicken and Sides!!!
by marchicago at Citysearch
Nick's Pit Stop is is a unique place serving some of the best comfort food/bbq I've had in Chicago. Even though I no longer live in Bucktown, I'll still make the "hike" from the Northside every once in a while to enjoy what Nick's has to offer. The menu is small but everything is great...obviously have the chicken but don't forget about the mac and cheese and corn on the cob (during the summer). There are no frills but the atmosphere is still pleasant for a quick lunch or takeout dinner. Highly Recommend!!!
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Don't go on a date here - but, a quick weekend lunch or takeout dinner is perfect!
