my favorite diner. Fortunately the 'Hood is a bit more peaceful then when I first started going here, and you don't have to hear ricochet-ing gunfire anymore! This is my favorite breafast place, and the bone in ham Hungry Man breakfast or one of the pancake choices are the best. It is very inexpensive and excellent home-made style food and not a "greasy spoon" it is a great home-cooking iconic place. I wish they were open 24-7 but they aren't. If you go after 9.30 AM and before 11 AM on a weekend you will have a long-ish wait unless you are willing to sit on a barstool. Waitstaff lovely caring "aunty" types.
Great Food, Great Service. I love this place! I eat there every Saturday morning, and sometimes for lunch. Their selection is pretty good for breakfast, GREAT food. The waitresses are very friendly and the food is quick and cooked in sight. The only problem is on the weekends its pretty crowded and they aren't open 24 hours a day,
The best pancakes I've ever had. The first time I went there, I ordered banana nut pancakes. They were so good that I keep returning during my 6:00 a.m. rush before work, preferrably once every other week. I try to order different things every time, but despite how amazing everything tastes, I still can't forget how phenomenal the banana-nut pancakes were. The service is great, too. All the waiters exhibit a southern attitude by calling all their customers "hun". I love this restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel right at home with a warm homemade breakfast.
Old-time coffee shop appeals to all ages with bargain-priced, filling breakfast fare..
In Short
Folks who visit this small dining room sidle up to the counter and watch as pancakes and omelets are created on the grill before their eyes. Breakfast reigns here, with real, carved-from-the-bone ham as a highlight. Those in the know go for the Gypsy skillet--two eggs atop a mound of hash browns and chopped ham. Fruit-topped pancakes and pigs in a blanket are other faves.
