I love this place I'm uruguayan and we eat pretty much the same food when I found this place I was very happy my family and I have been going there for over 3 years I believe and its always been great. Great food feest service. Its the same food I've been eating since I was little so it is authentic and as far as the bad review goes I agree with a previous writer treat others as you would like to be treated

great food, does anything else matter?

El Nandu's is excellent. I have been there twice, ordered different dishes each time, and have been impressed each time. When I think back to the steak with onions and cheese, it still leaves me salivating . The sangria is a must, as is the carmel flan. Overall, this restaurant is a must!

GREAT SERVICE

by maripoza81 at Citysearch

I HAVE BEEN THERE A LITTLE OVER 3 TIMES AND I MUST SAY THE FOOD IS GOOD. THE CHURRASCO IS VERY TASTY. SERVICE IS ALSO GREAT THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY.THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE PLACE IS NICE. WHAT I CAN SAY ABOUT THE OTHER NEGATIVE FEEDBACK IS SIMPLY TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN RUDE SO THAT IS PROBABLY THE REASON YOU GOT THE WEIRD FACE FROM THE WAITER.

Loved the "Entrana Steak"! Great Place!

by elizabettancourt at Citysearch

If you can get over the drab dress of the day waitress, you will love this place! Recently moved to Chicago and pleasantly surprised by neighboring business. QUite busy the day we went, but as soon as some folks cleared out, the soul-attendant made our first visit great. The empanadas were a little pricey for the size but filling. THe churrasco was very good but the "entrania" took the prize. Generous portions and really personalized service. The Sangria was excellent and we loved the table sauces. We would have preferred the hot-pockets baked, but they were fried. Really enjoyed the homemade flan for dessert and the cappuccino cheesecake.

Over statement not authentic argentine food

by ddcarr at Citysearch

We went to the restaurant my husband had been there before, the steak was over cooked, when we told the waiter he just stood there, didn't offer to bring another steak just the way my husband had ordered. The waiter made a wierd face when I asked him for more caramel on desert. He looked at me like I was crazy for asking for extra caramel. To me that would be like an american asking for + ketchup at McD's and getting a wierd look back from the serving crew. The sign arround the corner states, that restaurant is the closest thing to Buenos Aires. Certrainly is not the Buenos Aires I lived in for 21 years. Closest to Buenos Aires is an overstatement.
