A great time
by Garsh at Citysearch
For the facts, it is what the others said.
How you feel afterwards depends on who you are with. My sweetheart and I are into simple fun. This is just that. If you want something that you will remember and you have someone who enjoys things that are paranormal then it is worth your dime and time.
HORRIBLE IN SO MANY WAYS!!!!!!!!!!

Would rather give this tour 0 stars!
This was the worst ghost tour I have ever been on! It was 4 hours of pure hell. (actually we bailed after 3 1/2 hour because we couldn't stand it anymore) Richard Crowe is a pompous jackass that is really just a big loser that apparently lives in a house full of junk. The stories he told were all out of order and made little sense. Everything the reviews above say is true. We were 'forced' to go into some gross shop in Chinatown to maybe buy some kind of anti- ghost mirrors. This little dump of a shop smelled bad and had bags of broken fortune cookies, USED rice cookers, and all kinds of other garbage for sale. At one point in the tour we were driven over 20 minutes outside of the city to see Resurrection Cemetery where the ghost of Resurrection Mary 'lives'. It was obviously dark and all we saw were trees and a black fence. Not sure why we had to spend 40 minutes RT to see that. At Hull House on the UIC campus we got out to see if the shutters would move or if faces would appear in the windows. There were like 4 other tours there at the time and we didn't even know where to look. And the stop to see where John Dillinger was shot was a total waste of time too!
Don't waste your money on this tour or on this man's merchandise. He seems to hate Oprah Winfrey, anyone that goes on or watches Jerry Springer, the Chicago govt, the new Bears Stadium, and "Yuppie Scum."
Stop Complaining
by Fun Seeker at Citysearch
Stop complaining about the Richard Crowe tour. He's been running tours for thirty years and doesn't cater to complainers or cheapscates anyway.
Stay home and watch the Sci-fi channel. Oh wait. You would have to buy that to watch it.
- Pros: Best Haunted Tours In Chicago
- Cons: Stay Home and watch the Sci-fi channel if your cheap
SO BAD IT IS SCARY!

I am a local but I have done similar tours across the US and was so excited to do one here in my neck of the woods- big mistake. I agree 100% with the other reviewers-- Billy Goat???? A great place but what does it have to do with ghosts? The Chinatown stops were a joke-- nothing to do with the tour and he kept promoting the stuff in the store. Only a handful of real stories and he was (within a few minutes) so obnoxious and inappropriate that it was hard to attend to the "lecture". Political comments that were offensive, etc. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (HATED TO GIVE IT ONE STAR BUT THE SITE MADE ME GIVE SOMETHING)
Not really worth it!! - Read up on the areas and go yourself

I would have to agree with most of the previous comments concerning this tour. I recieved this as a gift, and went with my girlfriend a while back. We only ended up making 4 stops, only 2 of which were actually legitimate areas of "paranormal activity" The other stops were to the Billy Goat and a shop in China Town. Im no expert, but the other stops had little to no supernatual significance and seemed to be more of a trap for the Billy Goat and Chinatown shop to get more business. (I was actually astonished to see how many people from the tour group were purchasing stuff from the China store!!!) I am very curious to see what he is getting for bringing so many large tour groups into their stores $$$$$$$$$ In all fairness, if you are not from the Chicago area and have more money than you know what to do with, it is a good way to see these parts of the city, but if you are a local like me, you would be better off visiting these haunted places on your own. Although he did have some interesting stories that even myself being from the area was not aware of, he seemed kinda rude and self centered. This kind of thing does not necessarily bother me, but he included several odd and out of place political and religious statements that were not necessariy appropriate considering the subject matter he is being paid to present. The standard ghost tour we went on was 50 dollars each, no where worth the money. He is defnitely running the tour too much as a business and would benefit by including more actual ghost stops and less visits to irrevelant areas.
- HMMMM I noticed that somehow the rating for this tour is 5 stars when the last 2 reviews were 1 and 2 stars. I feel the hand of Richard Crowe all over this one!!!
- Pros: Some interesting facts
- Cons: Not enough relevant stops
